ssh-agent and id_dsa
Hi! I am distributing 2.5.1p1 for production use on my system by now and prepare switching to protocol 2 as default protocol. I just noted, that ssh-agent can be used for protocol 1 and 2, but the keys kept in ssh-agent are not compared against keys in .ssh. Example: I have a DSA key in id_dsa which I load into ssh-agent on login. When connecting to an account accepting the key everything is

getGraphicsEvent on X11 and event queuing
Hi R-Devel, I've been working on an oscilloscope project using an Arduino microcontroller board. I found that it's quite easy to get realtime updates, e.g. 30+ frames per second, if I read data from the board in a little Rcpp library. I have to use dev.hold() and dev.flush() to keep the plot from flickering, which restricts me to the "cairo" X11 device. I'd like to be able

occasional ssh hang
I am using OpenSSH on Redhat 6.2 (Intel) and Solaris 2.6 (Sparc). I have a job on the linux machine that ssh's to the Solaris machine every 20 seconds or so and runs uptime. The problem is that after many iterations of this, ssh will occasionally hang, and require a kill -9 to get rid of the process. The problem happens with both protocol version 1 and 2, but it seems to happened more often

[Bug 227] 2nd Client Instance Can Login Without Authorization
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=227 ------- Additional Comments From mouring at eviladmin.org 2002-04-26 15:03 ------- Provide us with your environment and a reproducable example. The only thing I can think of is that you are using ssh-agent and you've registered your key with the agent the first time. Thus it is now usable for all following SSH sessions (from your account)

weird behaviour of commands option : bug or not ?
Hello I think I've found a bug but since no one replied to me on comp.security.ssh, I'll try my luck here. On my client, PreferredAuthentications is set to publickey, password. When using the commands option in authorized_keys file like command="ls" ssh-dss <key>... it is supposed to connect using the private key associated with <key>, perform ls and then quits.

Exit status strangeness
Hello, Trying to get Oracle DataGuard running, which basically does a lot of work between two replicating databases via rsh/ssh. It is breaking because it pays very close attention to the exit status of ssh commands. We are using OpenSSH 2.5.2p2 (also tried 2.9p1, same result) on Solaris 7 and 8. This seems to be Solaris specific, because I can't reproduce it on Linux. I've

getGraphicsEvent on X11 and event queuing
... I just realized that setGraphicsEventHandlers or getGraphicsEvent could have an 'onIdle' callback, to be called somewhere in the polling loop of gevents.c:163 - I think this would solve my problem #2 in a minimally disruptive way. possible bug: OpenSSH appears to freeze on exit
Hello, I believe I may have discovered what appears to be a small anomoly in the way OpenSSH closes connections and thought if I gave you some feedback I might be able to make a very small contributution to the development of openssh. This might be a Solaris 2.6 anomoly or an openssh anomoly or a combination of both. I came across this apparent anomoly because we use openssh (via cron) here to

ssh_exchange_identification

I am running openbsd 2.8 and I upgraded to the lastest verison of openssh 2.9 but when I did that it started giving me this error "ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host" when I try to log into the machine even when I am on the machine and try to ssh localhost it gives me the same message. I have read every FAQ I could find

Authenticated with partial success ?
Hi all, I've got the following problem when connecting to a SSH server version 2.0.13 with dsa public key authentication. Instead of logging in I get "Authenticated with partial success". I attached the complete output of "ssh -v". The interesting part: This only happens when connecting from one special machine (running SuSE 8.0, OpenSSH 3.4p1). From any other machine
