Some more help on S4 mechanism
...to follow. Unfortunately, I am still puzzled by the next step.
I spent the whole Week-end in gathering information from the net.
Some of them are almost contridtcory and I lack a good document to help me.
So my first question would beL Is there a convenient document which tells
a standard user, who laready developped a package with S3, on how to migrate
to the S4 mechanism.
Secondly, this is my problem:
According to Martin, now I use a NAMESPACE (as follows):
import (methods)
exportPattern("^[^0]*$")
exportMethods(

rstandard does not produce standardized residuals
Dear all,
the application of the function rstandard() in the base package
to a glm object does not produce residuals standardized to
have variance one:
the reason is that the deviance residuals are divided
by the dispersion estimate and not by the
square root of the estimate for the dispersion.
Should the function not be changed to produce residuals
with a variance about 1?

Log rotation issue
Hi,
We recently migrated the samba-ad-dc from 4.6.5 to 4.7.1. Over a period
of last 15 days or so we have been observing that although the samba log
rotates, upon rotation, samba will start writing the logs to both the
main log file and the <main log>.old file simultaneously. While, the
main log file rotates properly, instead of deleting old file and create
a new one on rotation, samba

Can't see my server
I'm trying to get running an ethernet with two machines: a samba server running suse linux 6.4 and a client
running windows 98.
I follow the steps in the DIAGNOSIS.txt file, but I get stucked when executing 'net view \\SERVER' in the
client. I have laready done everything it says in that file:
1) Set a lmhost file in the client. Just with this line:
192.168.0.1 ASTERIX #Asterix is the server
2)configure the dns options in win98;
3)same for wins.
But it still doesn't work.
Things don't like me are that I'm able to ping in both ways, b...
