Escaping characters
Hi,
I am writing some help about post formatting. I am using redcloth to
format the text, and in a FAQ, also formatted with redcloth, I explain
what to type to what to obtain.
So, how could I escape ''*'', ''#'' & Co, to have an output like

Type *word* to obtain word

qos inside ipsec tunnel
Hello everybody.
I would like to do some kind of shaping inside an
ipsec tunnel implemented by Openswan and linux
2.6.18.x with xfrm (no KLIPS): for example, to
limit outbound smtp traffic inside the tunnel.
Question: where should I attach the qdisc to? Eth0?
I''m asking this, because tcpdump only see the ESP
packet on the eth0 and not the ''clear'' packet.
TIA

...our IT folks is daunting, and
requiring an Internet connection is troublesome for our
black-world users.
So, I''m thinking either a stand-alone executable (via
RubyScript2Exe?) or a set of static HTML pages they could
load locally?
Any other suggestions?
Thanks,

Hi list,
I just did my daily news scan and saw some screenshots that illustrate

screenshots show windows and buttons that exactly match my CentOS GNOME

(Open)Solaris and AIX, for instance.
So, has there anybody more

File compare word by word
Is there a utility that compares files word by word, instead of whole
lines or single bytes?
I found that I can simulate this by replacing all the spaces in a file
with linefeeds, then 'diff -B' the results, but that's kind of awkward
and hard to read when differences that matter come up.
(For the record, I tried using OOo's document comparer, converting to
text and using diff,

new Win7 security setting broke Samba
Good day all!
I administer two Samba servers (RHEL 4.5) which, up to recently, had been working well. Our security officials changed the LAN Manager group policy for the new Win7 systems from 'Send NTLMv2 response only; Refuse LM' to 'Send NTLMv2 response only; Refuse LM & NTLM'. We were running samba 3.0.33. I have upgraded to 3.6.8-44. I have tried a variety of
