DP MST with GK107 and lenovo ultra dock
Hi,
for quite some time now I would like to switch from the proprietary driver to nouveau, using a GK107 (Quadro) in a thinkpad.
Unfortunately the monitors connected to the lenovo "ultra dock" are not properly recognized when using nouveau.
The laptop contains a multiplexer: so in the bios it can be selected, whether the docking station's DP/HDMI/VGA-Ports are "directly"

Laptop for CentOS
Hello,
Has anyone used the Dell M3800 (ubuntu) laptop to run CentOS 6.x? If so how did it work out?
Also does anyone have a fairly new laptop they are running CentOS 6.x on, that they are happy
about? I am in the market for a new laptop and it must run CentOS 6.x.
Thanks,

Bringing a laptop to a Samba Network
I have a little home network, with a wireless router. The main box on
the ntwk runs RedHat 9.0 and Samba 2.2.7a.
I have a Win2K laptop provided to me by my employer with all the typical
corporate security constraints.
I can take the laptop home and access the internet from it through the
laptops secondary wireless router card and my wireless router. What I'd
like to be able to do beyond that is print documents from the laptop to
my home printer. It won't work. The laptop can see the printer, but
Samba is not letting it access the printer. The laptop is within the
corporate...

How does one put centos on a laptop?
My understanding that laptops no longer come with optical drives.
Booting from an install disk would be difficult.

Some quick googles only turned up articles about RHEL on Dell Laptops
in 2012 - nothing with RHEL seems to be current only with Ubuntu 14.04 .

The XO laptop from the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) program
There was recently a question on the R-help list about the eee pc. I
had a related question about the XO laptop from OLPC (laptop.org).
Has anyone looked at the development environment sufficiently to
determine if it would be possible to create an executable image for R?
The laptop itself only supports Python, Javascript, etc. but it is
running a real Linux operating system.

routed subnet problem
Hi,
I'm new to libvirt so please bear with me.
I am trying to set up a routed subnet on my laptop with libvirt, hoping it
to be able to communicate with all servers in my nw.
My laptop is on a subnet, 192.168.2.0/24, with a static ip, 192.168.2.27.
I have "more or less" followed this guide for routed networks,

Samba 3.0/wins.dat - 'Old' IP being served
Hi all,
We have a weird problem, Samba is providing an outdated IP address for a client (XP Pro) machine. This means that the client machine is not contactable by the other machines on the network.
The IP is that which was previously used when connecting via the company VPN, although the machine has/is now plugged onto the company network and had has new IP via DHCP.
This problem continues

HP laptops with CentOS 7?
Hello all,
I'm looking into getting HP laptops for our department running CentOS 7.
Last time I checked this was some five or so years ago, and when I look at
https://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Laptops, nothing much seems to have happened
since.
At that time, I had to give up CentOS on laptops, as both Wi-Fi and graphics
wasn't too well suppo...
