Changing the IP Address of a Samba AD DC doesn't work - samba_dnsupdate crashes
Hello!
I've followed your tutorial to change the IP Address of our Samba AD DC:
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Changing_the_IP_Address_of_a_Samba_AD_DC
But the samba_dnsupdate tool always crashes with this output:
samba_dnsupdate --verbose
Unknown parameter encountered: "ks"
Ignoring unknown parameter "ks"

Samba 4.3.0 and DNS entries missing for DCs
hello,
we've just upgraded from samba 3.6.6 to samba 4.3.0. We are using
INTERNAL as dns backend. We have 1 domain and 6 DCs on 5 different
sites. Replication between DCs is ok as we can see with "samba-tool drs
showrepl". We configured them like it is described on the wiki and used
the RSAT tool "Sites and services" to add sites, subnets, links ... But
for the 4 DCs

compiled samba version : 4.8.5 and my distribution is: debian stretch 9.6
I said that when I join the domain, restarting the machine takes the GPO,
the other restart does not take the gpo computer.
Thanks for your help

error with joining new DC to domain
may I extend the issue with some strange behaviour? Look here:
installing the sernet 4.7 as mentioned above I can´t join the domain in a regular way. ONLY it works when I asked BOTH of the working DCs with 4.9.3 before I try without explicit naming of a server... ^^
Follow me here:
[root at dc-02 etc]# samba-tool domain join obel.lan DC -U"OBEL\administrator" --realm=obel.lan

Thanks Rowloand for the hint!
I installed sernet-samba 4.7 and give it a try. Now I get:
[root at dc-12 1]# samba-tool domain join obel.lan DC --realm=obel.lan -Uadministrator
Finding a writeable DC for domain 'obel.lan'
Found DC dc-11.obel.lan
Password for [OBEL\administrator]:
workgroup is OBEL
realm is obel.lan

Unable to "rejoin" existing DC after upgrade (infamous WERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND)
Hi.
As happened some weeks ago, here I am again updating an old Samba 4.14.x network to a current version. The server hosting the FSMO roles is a Debian10 with 4.14.14, while the third node is a Ubuntu 18 running LinuxSchools build 4.14.8.
We started from a Ubuntu 20.04 server running Louis builds. We demoted the node and joined it back to the domain with 4.17.5 from Michael. Although on the

gpo not applied a boot computer
Hello everyone
since now a certain time I pull my hair and do not understand the source of
my problem.
after a samba 3 pdc migration to samba 4.8.5 AD, when a windows client
starts the gpo computer is not applied to the boot.
in the windows logs there are 1058 GPO errors and server side samba here
are the logs:

AD RODC not being used because of missing DNS entries?
Hi,
We have encountered these timeout issues with Samba 4.7 as an RODC too.
We created a ticket about it here :
https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13502
One thing is that even after the timeouts got resolved, I still get a
weird behaviour with two entries that keeps trying to update themselves
when I run "samba_dnsupdate". The call succeeds, but the entries are
