GLM: order of terms in model
Dear R-helpers, I have been analysing data using a GLM. My model is as follows: mod <- glm (V ~ T + as.factor(A) + N, family="gaussian") and using anova(mod, test="F") to get the analysis of deviance table and the fraction of deviance explained by each term. T and A dominate with respect to their Deviance, with T having a larger effect than A (about twice)

Functional Testing
Hey all, I have a many-to-many relationship (Questions has_and_belongs_to_many Answers), and when I destroy the Question (the one) I also destroy all the Answers (the many). Icecast 2.2.0 and Ices2: no audio
Folks: I'm trying to set up a streaming server under Fedora Core 2 using Icecast 2.2.0. Everything compiles; everything runs. There are no indications of a problem in any of the log files. When I look at http://192.168.0.128:8000/status.xsl, everything looks ok. But when I click on "Click to listen", it brings up xmms, but there's no indication of audio, and xmms shows a bit

Login scripts based on group
I have users that belong to several groups. I want a logon script to be run for each of the groups to which a user belongs. For example, when I logon, I want admin.bat, users.bat, and someothergroup.bat to run. On Novell I used to use 'if Member of groupName...', but I don't know how to do this in Samba.. Thanks, Dean

Conflicting timestamps in rsyncd.log
Hi list, I just setup my first rsyncd server and all is working well as far as file syncing goes. However, I am a bit baffled by the fact that some of the log entries in the rsyncd.log file are entered in local time and other are entered in GMT. Here is a sample: file upload: ============ 2009/03/01 15:15:49 [22641] connect from UNKNOWN (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) 2009/03/01 23:15:49 [22641] rsync to

Netware 5.0 to Samba/LDAP migration
I'd like to migrate a Netware 5.0 serve to Samba and LDAP. I'm wondering how I might export the usernames, passwords, and perhaps group memberships to the destination LDAP. If I can get the data into LDIF form, I'm okay from there. Does anyone know how the passwords in Netware 5.0 are encrypted? I hope to bring them over, but reseting the passwords is not out of the question (just

problem with AuthorizedKeysCommand on OpenBSD
Hi, I'm attempting to test the AuthorizedKeysCommand feature with the new port of ssh-ldap-wrapper to OpenBSD. I'm running yesterday's OpenBSD-current i386 snapshot, which includes AuthorizedKeysCommand. The port of ssh-ldap-helper (at http://old.nabble.com/-new--ssh-ldap-helper-td34667413.html) contains all the bits I need, and the individual pieces appear to work once configured:

Migration to Samba
I'm migrating to Samba on about 50 desktops. After I join the domain (this is on Windows 2k or XP) I get a whole new set of settings (under documents and settings). Is there a way to tell Windows to use the old directory? It matches their username on samba if that helps. Note, I'm using local profiles. Thanks, Dean

Windows XP SP2 doesn't login to SAMBA domain
Hello, We have a samba server for our computer lab. Currently all the machines are either windows 98 or windows 2000. The 98 machines are assigned to the 'INTRANET' workgroup, while the windows 2000 machines are part of the 'INTRANET' domain. We have no problems with this setup. I'm now trying to deploy Windows XP (sp2) computers to this lab. I'm constantly getting
