[panic] ipw and kismet
Hello,
I almost always get a panic when running kismet on my ipw-Interface
under 6.1-PRERELEASE. This has been the case ever since ipw hit the
tree. Sometimes kismet works, sometimes it doesn't. A sure way to
trigger the panic is to switch between bss/ibss/monitor mode prior to
running kismet. Perhaps there is a bug in the re-initialization when
loading a different firmware?
Is this panic

em(4) + ALTQ broken
I'm having problems getting PF + ALTQ to work on em(4) interfaces under
8.0-RELEASE. Kernel was rebuilt with the additional options necessary for
ALTQ and what not. Same basic configuration works fine under 7.2-RELEASE.
Basically, the queues create successfully but running a pfctl -vsq shows a
zero packet/byte count for all queues, even the interface's root queues.
This same problem is

Simplest OS possible?
What is the simplest OS I can install in Xen, preferably Linux based, and
don''t tell me MS-DOS :). I have installed a minimal version of Fedora, but I
want something that is even less cluttered.
I have looked at Minix, but it is not fully supported. I need something
small, lightweight (doesn''t have to be multi-threaded or anything), that
will run small C and Assembler programs

patch for kernel exploit?
Hi,
As most of you probably already know, a local root exploit was released
yesterday which affects kernels from 2.6.17 to 2.6.24.1. Is there an
official patch for dom0 and domU kernels, or can the backport of the
official kernel patch be used on these kernels?
Regards,
Zoltan HERPAI

Exporting a PCI Device
Hi All,
just a quick question I could not figure out. Is there a way to export a
PCI device to multiple VMs (para) keeping it available to dom0? Xen
version is 3.0.4.
Thanks,
Jan

Upcoming ABI Breakage in RELENG_7
Normally the FreeBSD Project tries very hard to avoid ABI breakage in
"Stable Branches". However occasionally the fix for a bug can not be
implemented without ABI breakage, and it is decided that the fix
warrants the impact of the ABI breakage. We have one of those
situations coming along for RELENG_7 (what will become FreeBSD 7.1).
The ABI breakage should only impact kernel modules

Sockets stuck in FIN_WAIT_1
I have a rather busy Apache 2.2 server; tons of small & some large
requests. It's a standard Dell 2650 server using the bge (broadcom)
network driver.
I seem to have a rather strange problem where after just a day or so
Apache just stops processing new connections. You can connect to port
80, but trying to get Apache to process any data just hangs. There is
nothing strange in
