Problem with flags
...nderbird's Label
feature, which uses custom IMAP flags. I noticed that once I labeled a
message, I couldn't un-label it. I recorded this exchange between
Thunderbird and Dovecot while using the Label/None command on a message:
5235 uid store 35 -Flags ($Label1 $Label2 $Label3 $Label4 $Label5)
* 35 FETCH (FLAGS (\Answered \Seen NonJunk $Label4 $Label5) UID 35)
5235 OK Store completed.
Even though Thunderbird is sending the -Flags command for all its custom
flags, the message is still retaining two of those flags.
Just out of curiousity, I tried changing the flag of that same message...

Message flags
How do I set message flags in sieve rules in such a way that e.g.
Thunderbird is displaying the mail as "important"? Is there a list of
hwo flags are interpreted by different IMAP clients?

Hi, here it is (I don't know why I get the SSLv2 warning because it is
disabled in ssl_protocols, any ideas about that too?).
BTW, even when storing the message in a different folder with fileinto,
the original message is still saved in the original mailbox. I also tried
using `discard;` and makes no difference, I

IMAP labeling sometimes not taken into account
...some e-mail, in my e-mail
client (currently Thunderbird), with a label, which can be chosen among
five labels (plus the "no-label" case). Evolution also supports labeling.
As far as I understood until a few days ago, when I put a label, say,
number five, on an e-mail, a keyword "$Label5" is added on the
"X-Keywords:" line of the corresponding e-mail in my mbox file. Removing
the label simply removes the keyword on the same line. That is, at
least, what happened with uw-imapd (not that I have seen that documented
somewhere but this is what I observed). The label...

IMAP flags and dovecot-keywords not working as expected
...rs to Thunderbird. I added the
appropriate flag letters to their IMAP messages, changed their tag names in Thunderbird, and
created the following dovecot-keywords file as:

2 Health_Care_meetings
3 Notifications
4 OSHP-DAS
5 personal_or_To_Do
6 Retirement_exits
7 $label5
8 Junk
9 $Forwarded
10 $MDNSent
11 $label2
However, none of the tags show up correctly in Thunderbird. If I manually set a message to
have a tag of 0, the corresponding IMAP file gets a flag of 'm', not 'a' and the following is
added to the dovecot-keywords files:

Using tags instead of folders?
Hi,
currently most people store their messages in some sort of folder hierarchy,
so that they can find them later easily. Here, for example, mails that are
connected to a project are being stored in /CompanyName/ProjectNumber
folders.
Now I was wondering if there is any reason against using tags instead of a
folder hierarchy, because tags are better when it comes to mails that belong

Since multiple ,matches
...rouble is, this sieve recipe doesn?t get triggered and the message gets filed into the extension folder ?twitter? or ?cornell? instead of ?misc?.
I have a very similar recipe following that one:
if header :contains "to" "root" {
setflag "\\Seen";
addflag "$label5";
fileinto :create "root";
stop;
}
And that one works as I expect.
Is that multiple match format valid for :contains (I?ve only seen it used for :regex)? I don?t get an error.
Is there a way to run a debug log for the sieve recipe? Preferably for a single user.

decompose a correlation matrix
Is there a simple way to decompose the upper triangle
of a correlation matrix to a linear list;
For example:
X Y Z
X 1 2 3
Y 2 1 4
Z 3 4 1
so you get a list like:
xy 2
XZ 3
YZ 4
I suspect you can do it with a matrix transformation, but
that beyond me at present.
Many thanks
Mark
