Compiling wxruby-1.9.2
Hi,
I''m trying to compile wxruby-1.9.2. This is my first time using rake.
All I get is the following:
(in /bld/lib/wxruby-1.9.2)
rake aborted!
can''t convert nil into String

(See full trace by running task with --trace)

1.9.3 release, rakefile
Hi
I''d like to put out a 1.9.3 release perhaps later this week/weekend. If
you have a chance to test the build and samples esp with latest
rubygems, please do.
There are still some bugs on the list, and samples to do, but this
should address all the build/install probs that have come up. And it
would be good to get some testing and feedback on some of the new classes.

wxRuby Documentation / Textitle Docs
Hey All,
Just wanted to let you guys know, that with the HTML Generated
documentation from the Textile source code, does not show *''s in stuff
like Wx::FileDialog. It''s interpreting this as a Bold, not as an
Asterisk. Just thought you''d want to know that.

Popup Window
Hey!
I would need a popup window like this (not necessarily associated to a
taskbaricon):
http://www.venraiker.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/03/libnotifyvx.png
I should be possible to show such a window for a certain time,
displaying a certain message.
Is a similar thing possible with wx? Are there oder options?
thx ck

1.9.5 Release

available, such as MPEG, BMFont, TTF, Kanji. I''m even thinking that this
would actually be best suited to be a separate package all together,
avoiding wxSugar and wxRuby, so as to allow the sdl.so extension to be
re-distro''ed with the package.
What do you guys think of this?

wxThread
Hey guys,
I''m working on the start of incorperating wxSocket into a library that
can be included with the Core, and a part of this, is to create a
wxThread class, which will basically just be a barebone copy over of
Ruby''s own Thread class. (This should also help when we get Ruby 2.0,
which hopefully will have Native Threads, as we should still be able to
get the base

Choosing a Sizer
Following alex advices, i''ve used both "text/textctrl.rb" and
"etc/threaded.rb" to build my first wxApp.
I''ve changed the Sizer type mainly (from "Wx::BoxSizer" to
"Wx::FlexGridSizer").
I didn''t find the way to let @log (Wx::TextCtrl) span 2 columns. At the time
of writing it''s growing only vertically.
And also how to get

Some odd bug cropped up when I made a bunch of code changes to my app

wxruby, XRC, DialogBlock
I''ve been trying to figure out the best method for generating GUI''s with
Ruby. I ended up using DialogBlock because it seems like the fastest
way. But not I have to work backwards and have not done this before.
How do I go from the file I generate in DialogBlock to a code in Ruby?

wxRuby Socket Demo finally available
...send_packet()
which just ensures that there''s no Buffered IO Reading, and ensures that
data being sent, has a Line Feed (0x0A) at the end, which shows that
it''s the end of the packet the server or client is sending.
Any questions, comments, suggestions, feel free to email me.

that info out from the length of the array. Ultimately creating
GraphicsContext#draw_lines(Array points, Integer fillStyle). Just a
suggestion.
So far, that''s all that I have found. AUI is working beautifully now,
without having to run GC.disable in it, with the newest patches.

Sockets.....
...proabbly for both 1.8 and 1.9, since there are some very fundimental changes
between both versions of the Interpreter.
Email me, or catch me on IRC (Which will more then likely be about 3:30,
4:00 in the morning on Monday), so I can start working on this for the
1.9.4release of wxRuby.
Thanks and L8ers,

Wx::GenericDirCtrl fixes
...l within it.
Example:
class MyDirCtrl < Wx::GenericDirCtrl
def initialize(*args)
super
evt_tree_item_selected(Wx::ID_ANY) { |evt| do_event(evt) }
end
end
As far as I know, this will work with any of the evt_tree* signals. A bit
of a hack, but it should work without any problems.

Win32 Compile
Hey Alex,
I know I proabbly asked you this in the past, but what environment are you
using to compile wxRuby and wxMSW in? Is it VC6? I want to know, so I can
see about setting up this environment for myself, to do some compiles of SVN
wxRuby on Windows.
Let me know, and l8ers,

--enable-xrc --enable-mdi --enable-gif --enable-pcx --enable-iff

But this doesn''t seem to like it when it comes to compiling wxRuby. Any
ideas?
