Hey guys, I'm running ubuntu 10.04 on wine 1.2-rc3 on a Asus G73JH Laptop. Ive gotten steam and l4d2 to install and I can run both, but while in game with l4d2, it runs okay at certain points but then studders/slows down when the action ramps up. Is there anything I can do to improve the performance so its more playable? Thanks for the help.

Why is this happening? black textures and look the flash light. I can run this game perfectly on windows, no problem with the textures or lights i'm using mat_hdr_level 0 just to improve the perfomance in linux, it doesnt affect the textures, on or off is the same.... i also tried to change the video settings on game from low to high and same result. but anyway my system specs Pentium 4

It's never given me an issue before, so I can tab out and check for IMs and such. However, recently it won't let me do so. ...monitor is 1920x1080. As noted in the title, Half-Life 2 starts and runs beautifully with all settings maxed out. Half-Life itself and all HL mods seems to be running fine. I've successfully HL2, tested HL, CS, TFC, and DoD. The games that I'm having trouble with are; CS:S, DoD:S, L4D, L4D2, and TF2. All of them exhibit essentially the same symptoms.
