Regression by factor using "sapply"
Apologies for the elementary nature of the question (yes, I'm another newbie)... I'd like to perform a multiple regression on a single data set containing a representation of energy consumption and temperatures containing account number, usage (KWh), heating degree days (HDD) and cooling degree (CDD) days. I want to get the coefficients back from the following equation: lm(AvgKWh ~ AvgHDD + AvgCDD, data=usage) Given that the data set contains the usage of different accounts (e.g. some large energy users and some small energy users) I...

Coding of categorical variables for logistic regression?
Hello, I am trying to do a logistic regression and have one predictor variable (x) that is ratio and two predictor variables (y and z) that are categorical. These have three levels each which I have called "High", "Medium" and "Low". My question: do I need to use a numerical coding scheme for the categorical variables as required by some statistical software

Here?s why it matters: https://www.rapidtables.com/calc/electric/energy-cost-calculator.html At 12 pence per kWh ? typical for power in some places in your country, based on your TLD ? it?s going to cost you about 1 pound per watt consumed if it runs all day every day. If it draws 35 W, that?s ?35/yr. If it draws 200 W, that?s ?200/yr. If the cost is high enough, then it?s probably cheaper to buy a new ene...

Critical values of r
I've spent several hours trying to track the answer down myself and failed miserably so a simple question for everyone that will no doubt have a painfully obvious answer. What's the command to calculate the critical value of r using a two tailed test with a given alpha and degrees of freedom? I.e., alpha=0.05, df=18, two-tailed test, with the result being 0.4438 -- View this message in

After coming back to original scale (using following formula): exponential(estimate +/- 1.96*SE), at best I can get the output in the form of estimates, lower_limit, upper_limit values. As far I know forest() in metafor package needs input in the form of estimates and their
