list of available R packages
...way... According to http://cran.r-project.org/bin/linux/debian/ , the list of available R packages can be found by apt-cache search ^r-.* This seems to work in bash but not in zsh. Have you installed the fortunes package? From within R you can go install.packages("fortunes") If you have already installed it then there is something deeper going on.
