Centos6 - Logwatch not mailing on 64bit
...no report is sent.
If I run logtwatch manually, by simply typing
logwatch
as root, I get the mail.
Is this a known issue? Is there some information I could supply that
would help identify the reason?
To the best of my knowledge, I made no changes to the logwatch configuration.
Thanks

can't browse PDC
We've set up Samba as PDC and for some reasons
some users can't browse the for the shares anymore!
(Worked fine for more than 2 months!)
"windows alert: \\KURN\ not available, access denied"
Any automatic reconnected net volumes work fine.
There's nothing strange in the log file (except
"call_nt_transact_ioctl: Currently not implemented"
but that was there before)
Another strange behavior: When I then log in as
an account that can ac...

It's difficult to believe that Apple IOS devices (all of which are

windows or even linux hosts.
Does anyone have any clues?

Centos Gotcha: YUM Groupinstall
...will actually do a lot of installs.
So, I had to adapt my script to perform a "groupinfo G", parse the
modules, and individually test them to see if they need installation.
I do not understand this behavior -- group G is shown as "installed",
but it really isn't.

case) the starting of a script to do a bunch of startup things

IS THIS THE DESIRED BEHAVIOR
I sort of doubt it, and I'm sure it will eventually be sorted out by
the zfs-fuse developers.

SOLUTION:
(with embarrassment)
It turns out that one of the Ethernet switches in the path was not
behaving properly. I removed it, and the problem disappeared. Sorry
to have raised a red-flag ... the problem has been bugging me for 5
days and only today did I look at the switch.

Centos6 and samba and nmblookup
...are not included in Centos6. A search using YUM also
did not find "nmblookup", using the repositories:
base, centosplus, contrib, cr, epel, extras, updates, virtualbox
Has its functionality been moved elsewhere, or should I try to find
something wrong in my environment?
Thanks

Yum Group Desktop shows rhn-setup-info
Folks
In Centos 6 (updated as of last night), the command
yum groupinfo Desktop
shows the package "rhn-setup-info" as one of its default packages,
yet it appears that the package does not exist.
Is this an inconsistency in the YUM data? or what?
Thanks

CentOS Tshirt ideas
hi,
We have, like in the years past, a table at Fosdem and I'd like to get
some tshirts printed to hand out. In the past, the Linux Ninja's and
Beards ones got quite a bit of attention ( and both were not brand
spammy, which is always nice ).
Reaching out to the mailing list for ideas on what we can do this year,
with the caveat that I need to finalise by this weekend if we are to get

NetworkManger trying to start Supplicant
...kManager: <info> Trying to start the supplicant...
There is no wireless on that computer, but there are two NICs,
because it is my home gateway. Is there some tweak that can prevent
this message?
The installation is a relatively new one, so all packages are "up-to-date".

selinux prohibiting sssd usage
I've got a CentOS 6 machine that's slated to go into production
providing some web and development-repository services.
Part of the environment is gitweb, which works as expected with one
glitch: SELinux doesn't allow gitweb.cgi to query sssd to display who
owns the repositories.
The audit log entries are pretty straightforward, e.g.,

VDO killed my server
...notes to the appendix.
- Using VDO on top of LVM seems to be the logical way to use
deduplication for a large file set, yet the use cases don't seem to
cover this (unless I misread them)
I have reverted back reluctantly to using ZFS for this function.
Have others had issues with VDO?
