Anyone able to NFS boot on xen 4.x ?
Has anyone been able to get domU NFS boots working with any version of Xen 4.x? If so, can you please post your config? Both the dom0 Xen version & kernel, as well as the domU config file. I''ve spent a lot of time running through all the docs, HOWTO''s and published configs and assorted patches for Ubuntu 9x-10x and Xen 4x trying NFS booting with each. I''m not going

Promiscuous mode
Hi Everyone, In order to prevent DomU from entering promiscuous mode, is it just a matter of adding these 2 rules when the vif is created? # Accept packets leaving the bridge going to the domU only if # the destination IP for that packet matches an authorized IPv4 # address for that domU. iptables -A FORWARD -m physdev --physdev-out vif1.0 \ --destination 216.146.46.43 -j ACCEPT

Restrict Disk Usage
Hi Everyone, Is there any way to restrict Disk usages per DomU? It would be to stop customers from hogging all the available disk time and slow everyone else down. Apperently, Cloudmin can do this, but that costs money... Any ideas would be appreciated Thanks _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com

VT-d with P6T Deluxe
Hi, I have an ASUS P6T Deluxe and I''m trying to use VT-d with Xen. I have also tried it with ESXi and Parallels Workstation Extreme - none of them work correctly. >From reading the xen-user and xen-devel list archives, I see that this motherboard has problems with malformed DMAR tables. Is there anything I can do to fix/workaround this or am I completely stuck? I did notice

HVM Network Interfaces
Hi Everyone, In my HVM guest''s config file, I have given my guest 3 interface. I have called them fw1, fw2 and fw3. I have joined each interface to a bridge on the Dom0. This does appear when I do a "brctl show". However, there are 3 other interfaces also added called tapx.0,tapx.1 and tapx.2 (Where x is the domain ID for the guest). Furthermore, I am only able to run

System reboots after "Scrubbing free RAM" Xen 4.0.1 linux 2.6.37-rc3
Hi Everyone I have sorted out the initial issues I''ve had and decided to give Xen another go. I''m trying to run Xen using kernel 2.6.37-rc3 (previous attempt with rc1 failed, and when I gave it a second go, rc3 was already out). As previously, 2.6.37-rc3 boots fine natively. 2.6.32 boots natively and under Xen as dom0, but I have reservations against running 2.6.32,

Success: VT-d on ASUS P6T
Hi, I''ve successfully used VT-d on an ASUS P6T mainboard which is known to have really buggy RMRR tables. I tested passtrough with: - the onboard (fake-)raid-controller (no problems) - a pci card (no problems) - VGA cards (worked only partly - I''ll investigate that) I wrote a little patch to the code parsing the RMRR tables and enabled the following command line options:
