Desperate plea for help with printer share
Hey Y'all, I've been trying for months to get samba to share my printer with my wife's Win XP machine. I've RTFM, and spent hours on google to no avail. I can't see the printer from Windows so I can't mount it up. Nothing appears in the logs. The file shares work just fine. It looks like I've got Samba 3.6.9 on this machine: [mlapier at mushroom samba]$ rpm -qa

I make a recycle bin as follow: config-file = /etc/samba/recycle.conf vfs object = recycle recycle:subdir_mode = 0770 recycle:keeptree = Yes recycle:repository = Recycle Bin recycle:versions = Yes recycle:directory_mode = 0770 But testparm shows: Unknown parameter encounter: "config-file" Ignoring unknown parameter "config-file" What could be the problem and the solution?

Can not connect to share for a particular user.
Hello I currently run a few samba servers one being used as a PDC. Today I added a user to the domain and for some reason I can not get it to connect to any of the shares but "home" on the file server. % smbclient -U gregi //server3/public Password: Domain=[HYDRIX-MALVERN] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 3.0.28] tree connect failed: NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED However I can connect with : $

Mounting Samba Share using linux login
Windows users are able to mount samba share using windows. But for linux user, we need to create credentials file, to mount samba share e.g: //servername/file_store /home/user/Desktop/file_storage smbfs credentials=/root/.smbcredentials Is it possbile to change the credentials to something like windows users (for example credentials=unix user) so as the mounted share would depend on who login
