OpenSSH - Connection problem when LoginGraceTime exceeds time
...the time expires. However, the
non-priveledged sshd process remains connected until the client sends some
data or the client disconnects. Without priviledged separation, the sshd
process receives the alarm signal and exits. No other processes remain.
Any help to fix this problem?
Advance Thanks,

OpenSSH - forced command - no-pty issue
...:00 sleep 1000
You can test this by manually running the command:
# PID=`ps -ef | grep /tmp/test.sh | awk '{print $2}'`
# kill -HUP $PID
The shell script will be killed but the child process (sleep 1000) will keep
running.
Please let us know your comments on this.
Thanks in Advance,
Kumaresh.

Error with USE_POSIX_THREADS and OpenSSH-3.8p1
Hello,
I am using OpenSSH-3.8p1 on HP-UX machine with USE_POSIX_THREADS option.
This is for making the kerberos credentials file to be created in the system
with PAM. In OpenSSH versions 3.5 when authentication is done with pam
kerberos, a /tmp/krb5cc_X_Y file is created on the server side. But the
KRB5CCNAME variable is not set by default. So, after we manually set this
environment variable, the

slogin <host> -n
slogin "deadlocks" if you invoke it with the (useless, but legal)
switch "-n". stdin is not passed to it (and the local ssh process
ignores stdin), so it is not possible to kill it using <<~.>>
Should the "-n_ switch be disallowed for an interactive invocation?

PAM_LDAP fails with 3.7.1p2 when Shadow password installed on HP-UX 11.11
...v". PAM_LDAP library checks this and particularly when
"/usr/sbin/pwunconv" is removed, LDAP auth works.
Is there any chance that the problem is in checking the return status of the
PAM APIs in 3.7.1p2?
I have attached the "sshd -ddd" file with this mail.
Advance thanks,
Kumaresh.

SSH : UsePAM yes and Password authentication
Hello,
We have a setup with OpenSSH server on HP-UX machine with windows SSH

This is particularly for non-root users with PrivSep YES. When I connect to

scp vs ftp performance on SGI IRIX????????
Hi,
Running OpenSSH 3.5p1 or 3.7.1p2 on two SGI orgin 300 systems of IRIX
6.5.17 with
4 600MHz CPU and gigabits network.
Transfer a 1GB file with ftp took 28 seconds.
Transfer a 1GB file with scp took 148 seconds.
Use "snoop" to capture all network packets between these two systems. Ftp
tansmitted
about 107840 packets, but scp transmitted about 763339 packets.
Is this normal? Why?

[Patch] Improve portability of regression tests
Hello All.
As promised, here is what I needed to do to get the regression tests to
work on AIX & HPUX. It goes into a bit of detail in the hope that others
might be able to get them running on their platforms. I've run these
mods on AIX 4.3.3, HP-UX 11.00, Solaris 8, Redhat 7.3 and OpenBSD 3.0.
The problems I encountered:
* prereqs (pmake, md5sum)
* bad directory owner/mode causing auth
