Does anyone know of a conversion tool that is native to linux (preferrably) that could do this? Or even a Windows app would suffice truly. yum repository for Mplayer and Codecs?
Good morning, I've looked around a bit for a yum repository for Mplayer with all of the codecs. Does anyone know of a repository? (I admit I'm being a little lazy this morning :) ). Thanks! Jeff

Function "nsl()" missing in package utils
...ver, I cannot find it in the utils package of my installation(s). I've tried the R-versions 2.8.1, 2.9.0 and 2.9.1. I'd be very thankful if someone could give me a hint on "nsl" or some other function to do a hostname lookup! Car Performance Tuning
...ftware that will run on CentOS (or really any linux install period) that will assist me in testing and tuning my vehicle. I'm involved in import racing and would like to glean as much information from my car as possible while making modifications. Any ideas? Sylpheed-Claws aka Claws-Mail
Question! I took the spec from Claws-Mail (formerly called Sylpheed-Claws) of FC6 and updated it from 2.9.0 to 2.9.1 (correctly I believe). I created the rpms from the build and I suppose I will sign them and put them up on kuei-jin.org. My question is, should I give them to someone to see if what I did is correct? QA?? I didn't edit any source or anything. I know that it works because I installed it on my machine and it's fetching mail right now. I had to rebuild libetpan as well. That spec file was really simple...

How do point releases work?
I'm new to RHEL-like distros. When, say, CentOS 4.1 is released, will it simply be CentOS 4.0 + released updates in new ISO images? Or is it more than just the updated packages integrated into the full distribution? Put another way, if my 4.0 installation is kept up to date with YUM, will I basically have a 4.1 installation? Thanks.

New to CentOS, is this a safe bet?
I know this may be a stupid place to ask, but I have to ask. I'm looking for a new Linux distro to use and support. I've been a loyal purchaser of SuSE Linux Pro for the last 3 years. I've paid my $90 loyally, in part because I wanted money to actually go to someone working on OSS, but also because I thought it was a good bargain, to get a quality, tested distro for that cost. The
