A new pvops kernel (78b55f90e72348e231092dbe3e50ac7414b9e1af) needs around 25%
cpu while being idle with 32 guest domains in event and ksoftirq kernel

Too Many Running Process
...the problem where CentOS 6.3 x64 has more than 700
processes running. i am not sure where to start, what in normal or
abnormal.

when running Xen on a Hyperthreaded P4 3Ghz. Any one else seeing

ddos attack causes high ksoftirqd cpu use
...ion layer ddos attack against a
few name servers (thousands of IPs sending lots of bogus A record
requests - weird) - one of the name servers was behind a shorewall
firewall. That firewall was running a 2.6.18-194.11.1.el5 kernel and
shorewall-4.4.11.1-1. I noticed that the shorewall host had ksoftirqd
using 100% of the CPU during the attack and was kind of slow in general
as a result - I think this may have affected traffic to other hosts
behind that firewall as well. Any ideas what would cause this? I was
hoping to avoid this scenario in the future if possible since I plan on
deploying s...

ksoftirqd / centos7
Hi,
Today I migrated a server form C6 to C7. The machine is dedicated for a
couple of redis daemons. given the traffic etc, we see cpu0 being 100% in
use immediately. No problem, had the same thing on the C6 server.
So I pinned certain processes/irq's to other CPU's and made irqbalance was
monitoring things. That did solve the issue in C6, but not this time.

Lustre Client - Memory Issue
Hi Guys,
My users are reporting some issues with memory on our lustre 1.8.1 clients.
It looks like when they submit a single job at a time the run time was about
4.5 minutes. However, when they ran multiple jobs (10 or less) on a client
with 192GB of memory on a single node the run time for each job was
exceeding 3-4X the run time for the single process. They also noticed that

Hi
After a few days of very fine work, my dom0 went mad. (using xen-3.0.2)
It''s ksoftirqd keeps 70% of cpu all the time.
Is there anything I can do?
