NSLCD works, do I need RFC2307 extensions enabled in AD as well?
Hello all,
I've just installed Samba 3.6.6 from the Debian Stable repo. I want to use
this linux box as a smb file server for windows clients.
I installed NSLCD to allow users in AD to authenticate against my linux
server per

Call completion/error codes and extensions.conf call flow
There was a conversation last night on the IRC channel between
myself, Corydon76, citats, and kram on the ability of a call process
to access the error (or success?) codes underlying a call. I'm
uncertain if anything came out of it, but I'll re-hash here to
solicit other comments.
My idea: I'd like to be able to get to error codes when a call passes
through some kind of action...

re: Web GUI
...there is a running version of a
solution (i.e.: code can be downloaded and compiled) then that is
what will be used. If you have code that will provide this function
in a cleaner and more integrated way, then by all means send a patch
to the bugs.digium.com list (if unfinished) or submit it to kram for
approval (if finished.)
I have several locations where a robust SQL-based extension database
would help quite a bit in rollout. There are much, much larger
Asterisk installations on the horizon, and one of the major
difficulties right now is showing how daily administration will be

asterisk console from xinetd?
I'm trying to set up xinetd to run an asterisk console on a tcp port.
So far I've added a file in /etc/xinetd.d/ like:
service actl
{
disable = no
socket_type = stream
protocol = tcp
port = 1234
wait = no
user = root
server = /usr/sbin/asterisk

Users with negative karma aren't named'n'shamed.. YET.. but congrats to all
the users with positive karma on the current list! The list shows all users
holding the top 10 karma scores in the system. Right now you need a 12 or

Re: Asterisk-Users Digest, Vol 11, Issue 81
...h code i/we have developed, they are also trying to lock hardware vendors out of this market. They are openly hostile and threaten relationships with those who use PCI based hardware not manufactured by them.
What reason do I have to trust someone who threatens me if I use a non-Digium hardware? Kram's makes "krap" hardware and we all know it. Software and services will be their only sustainable revenue stream.

R-1.9.1 scheduled for June 21
The release of R-1.9.1 is scheduled for Monday, June 21.
Automatic generation of daily alpha releases should start Monday, June
7 and switch to beta status on Monday, June 14.
It would be good if package maintainers could get any planned changes
done as soon as possible, and test their packages carefully against
the alpha/beta releases.

Mountpoints with auto mounter
Hi,
I'm running dovecot on a OmniOS installation and I'm wondering what I can do about all those mount point warnings in my logfile. The problem occurs because of the running auto-mounter which manages my mail directories. Isn't it possible for dovecot just try to access the directories before logging an error message. Shall I remove the corresponding mount points from the list of

Just FYI: I had similar problems for a while, and then I completely
scrapped my CVS directory and did a CVS CHECKOUT (instead of an update).
That solved the problem.

Known SIP - NAT Solutions?
I have recently begun experimenting with Asterisk, and have been
mightily impressed by its capabilities and flexibility. I have run
across one problem, however, that challenges my ability to use it as a
production system.
My Asterisk box has a public Internet IP, and works great with SIP
(ATA 186) clients that also have public IP addresses. Unfortunately,
most of the locations that I would

Monitor application temporary hack
[apologies for no line wrap; config lines at bottom]
I have mentioned on several threads here that the Monitor application doesn't do exactly what one would expect: the originating and answering legs of a call are unsynchronized by the duration of the interval that it takes for the answering leg to pick up the phone. This can be very distracting in a final mixed version of the file.
