stepAIC(coxph) forward selection
Dear R-Help,
I am trying to perform forward selection on the following coxph model:
>my.bpfs <- Surv(bcox$pfsdays, bcox$pfscensor)
> b.cox <- coxph(my.bpfs ~ Cbase + Abase + Cbave + CbSD + KPS + gender +
as.factor(eor) + Age)>stepAIC(b.cox, scope=list(upper =~ Cbase + Abase +
Cbave + CbSD + KPS + gender + as.factor(eor) + Age, lower=~1), direction=
c("forward"))
However the following code returns the full model. How do I write the code
so that forward selection is performed...

jitter buffer
Hi Farhan,
It is interesting that GPRS is 9.6 kps, as per GPRS standard it should
be 115kps ? if it is 9.6kps is true then I would use speex codec on GPRS
for my project, since in some country they charge GPRS on flat rate
rather than expensive airtime.
Thanks for your work !

Danny

ZFS slows down over a couple of days
Hi all,
I have exchanged my Dell R610 in favor of a Sun Fire 4170 M2 which has
32 GB RAM installed. I am running Sol11Expr on this host and I use it to
primarily serve Netatalk AFP shares. From day one, I have noticed that
the amount of free RAM decereased and along with that decrease the
overall performance of ZFS decreased as well.
Now, since I am still quite a Solaris newbie, I seem to

Sometimes early, sometimes late in progress. This is what I am using in
a shell script:
rsync --omit-dir-times --size-only -avzAX \

The bandwidth limit is 2500 kps. Without the limit it was working so far
since my boss told me to stop using it this way because he was afraid of
rsync taking all the network resources.
BTW, both NAS-Devices are mounted aus type cifs. My rsync version is

What is the highest quality codec I can use for recording voice messages?
I have looked at the codec's available but I don't know how get the highest
quality recorded message.
If a user calls in over the normal telephone network is this limited to the
carriers codec or the codec at the asterisk side?
Would I get a higher quality result using VoIP rather than the normal
network?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Fats.

Three (quick?) questions...
[Please excuse if this is a repeat; I initially tried to send it from a
different account, and it's been held up for a couple of days awaiting
moderation.]
1) What's the absolute minimum required (hardware-wise) in order to get one
in-bound POTS line into Asterisk, and then have IP phones "inside?"

This is sort of working -- but
I can't get it to do a 4k output.
Not sure how the monitor resolution is detected -
This monitor is supposed to do 3480x1200 60hz 4:4:4
But the info I get from hwinfo is different.
How does nouveau get this information?
If it is from an ID - with a list - the list is probably is wrong.

Ah, I thought you missed in my earlier reply the part about a bug with
debug printouts in 2.8.0 (fixed on master since), did not comment on that
when you replied with quoting... So, for now options are to bump debugging
to 3+ or to build your own in one of many ways possible :\

[PATCH -tip RFC v2 00/22] kprobes: introduce NOKPROBE_SYMBOL() and general cleaning of kprobe blacklist
Currently the blacklist is maintained by hand in kprobes.c
which is separated from the function definition and is hard
to catch up the kernel update.
To solve this issue, I've tried to implement new
NOKPROBE_SYMBOL() macro for making kprobe blacklist at
build time. Since the NOKPROBE_SYMBOL() macros can be placed
right after the function is defined, it is easy to maintain.

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list.
I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without
modifications.
How did I try it?
Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock )
Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a
rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee
prep-out.log
The build failed at the end:
