example sources
Hello all, Very new to Theora so apologies if this sounds elementary ;-) I'm trying to integrate a simple theora video player in my engine. All I need is simple load/unload and play/stop functionality. I'd also like to be able to stream from disk or mem. Other than the API reference I haven't found any example code, e.g. the sources for theora_player_example. Are these available

apply lm() for all the columns of a matrix
...Is there a fast way to perform linear fit to all the columns of a matrix? (or in the one dimension of a multi-dimensional array.) I'm talking about many single linear fits, not about a multiple fit. I thought that a combination of apply and lm would do it but I can't make it work Thank you Kostas -- Kostas Douvis PhD Student University of Athens - Department of Geography and Climatology Academy of Athens - Research Centre for Atmospheric Physics and Climatology email: cdouvis at geol.uoa.gr tel: +30-210-8832048

Templates and arrays
I''m in the process of documenting templates right now, and I figured I should see what happens when you use them with arrays: $ cat ~/bin/test.pp $values = [this, is, an, array, of, values] $content = template("/tmp/templates/testing.erb") file { "/tmp/temtest": content => $content } $ cat /tmp/templates/testing.erb <% values.each do |val| %> I got

...there is any other precautions that I must take in order to sleep safe at night. Should I check for any other opened ports ? Should I do something with the kernel to be more secure ? I know this ain't so easy, but let's say my main scope is to get a least a decent sleep :-) Kind Regards, Kostas

Problem with domain part in user_query in dovecot 1.1.14
...pgsql. I tried to configure dovecot to get the domain part in user_query by specifying different variants of auth_username_format variable such as %Lu, %Lu@%Ld, %Lu-at-%Ld and so on... So dovecot gets domain part in password_query, but not in user_query. I noticed the username is changed like this: kostas at mgupb.net->kostas in log. For some reason it happens before user_query so there is no domain part already. So one thing that had worked out for me was commenting the below code in src/auth/auth-request.c: if (strcmp(request->user, value) != 0) { /* remember the ori...

Cleaning app
Hello all, When I'm doing something like: yuv_buffer yuv; theora_decode_YUVout(&td,&yuv); I'm guessing a bunch of stuff gets newed/malloced for yuv.y, yuv.u, and yuv.u. Who is responsible for deleting/freeing that stuff? Cheers, Kos.

I think I''ve seen recent threads saying that it is no longer necessary to create a new kernel. converting YUV to RGB

Fileserver scalability
I just talked to Mike McGrath from Fedora Infrastructure, and he told me that they are seeing load spikes (not quite performance problems yet, but definitely a concern) in their setup. As an example, the graph [1] shows a typical client - the spikes from 16:00 to 8:00 are almost exclusively puppetd doing its thing. It seems that the most likely culprit is the fileserver - they serve 500-1500

Group management
Hi, I am sure this subject has come up before. I did not find anything on Google that comes close to what I am trying to do. I would like to manage different groups on multiple nodes using puppet and do not know of a good way to do it. Does anyone have an idea of how I can accomplish this? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks, Mouncef _______________________________________________
