VS: Samba BDCs and machine trust account passwords
...slaves. So could this be indicating that the machines are actually communicating with the wrong server to change their passwords..? Can this be corrected with "security = server"? (Will it relay the password change to the server specified with "password server = ..."?)

Samba BDCs and machine trust account passwords
...is with the "unix password sync" and "passwd program" and "passwd
chat" smb.conf-options? Or is there a way to tell Samba not to change
the password in the local smbpasswd, but hand it to the master server
instead? Can "password server" option do this?

Maildir folder separator
Hi,
There's been some demand from users to make it possible to use the
period character (.) in folder names, but that is impossible when the
folder separator is already period.
Is there any possibility of replacing that which another separator, say
a / ?

Maildir + Evolution
...e "Folder.Subfolder" and
"Folder.Subfolder.Subsubfolder". There's no such problem when using
traditional mailboxes. Is this an Evolution bug or one of Dovecot's? I had
thought the IMAP protocol should act the same no matter which mail dir
structure was used...

Data loss (corruption with rsync)
...the content does not.
Running
navi:/mnt# rsync --recursive --progress --verbose miracle storage
started new copy process with disk speed not cached speed.
This maybe due fuzzy option but append-verify should (?) confirm that
the already existing data matches the appended one (?).

NT4 machine trust breaks on a Samba-BDC
Hello all,
We have Samba (2.2.5) running on three servers, each in a different
subnet. One of them is a PDC (domain master = yes). The Samba PDC is
also the NIS master. The smbpasswd is replicated using rsync to the
other machines that act as Samba BDCs (domain master = no). They are
also NIS slave servers. The smbpasswd synchronization takes place
automatically every time smbpasswd is updated,
