[LLVMdev] interesting preso
I enjoyed this presentation:
http://www.linux-kongress.org/2009/slides/compiler_survey_felix_von_leitner.pdf
Among other things it lists small code sequences when compiled with a
small collection of compilers, including llvm 2.6. It looks like
there are several fairly obvious things we could do better...

Wow, very comprehensive!
Is there anyone working on vectorization? This is something that
interests me, I might give it a try, just need some pointers.
cheers,

Initial user password
Hi list.
I am new to the list, but not so new to samba. Though i have a question.
I am migrating to samba 3.0 and want to setup users using pdbedit (like Volker
Lendecke showed at the Linux Kongress in Saarbr?cken; very fine tutorial, thanks!).
Is there a way of setting an initial passwort like "test" and to force the user to change it
after or while the first login?
Perhaps it is a stupid question, but the man-pages don't say anything about something
like this. So do not answ...

[ADMINISTRATIVE] Mailinglist problems / delays
...should stop,
at least starting with the weekend when the pending queue should be worked =
off.
If you still encounter problems starting next week, please don't hesitate
to send me emails with the exact headers/mails so I can try to debug the
problem.
Please note that I will be attending Linux-Kongress (www.linux-kongress.org)
next week, so I might not answer as fast as usually.
Sorry for the unconvenience, thanks for your interest in netfilter.

Mark Spencer,
I caught your presentation at the Linux-Kongress
http://graphics.cs.uni-sb.de/VCORE/recordings.html . I want to personally
thank you for validating all that I have been doing to promote Asterisk to
anyone and everyone who will take the time to listen. When I talk about it

Xen domU installer scripts
Hi,
As followup to the Linux-Kongress tutorials I''ve started to polish my
tiny domain installer scripts a bit and ended up creating a new package
containing a number of shell scripts for domU installations. The name
is "domi" and you can grab a copy here:

What happens with the indexed directory patch ?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hi,
I'm trying to install the htree indexed directory patch to my RedHat
kernel-source-2.4.18-10, but it seems that doesn't go.
First I tried the ext3 patch (I have sent some emails to this list telling the
problems I had with it).
Now I have just test the ext2 patch.
I get it from:

separate config for dedicate user
Hello,
I run samba 3.6 and I need to track problems for dedicated users.
So I thought, I load at the end via include special configurations for
the user separately.
My question is, how does the smbd configure itself. Does smbd
1) reads the config completely and then it set the parameters in the process or
2) does smbd reads and set each parameter instantly?
So can I use the following example?

SuSE 10 no network in dom0 - arp problem?
Hello.
I have installed the SuSE Linux 10 XEN kernel but no domU yet. Now I
cannot ping to and from dom0. I get lots of ARP broadcasts from dom0
but dom0 seems to ignore ARP answers. When pinging to dom0 it ignores
arp requests. This happens regardless xend is running or not. This
happens in the xen kernel only, when booting stock kernel all works
as expected.
What can I do?
