How to calculate Intraclass-coefficient in 2-level Linear Mixed-Effects models?
Dear R-users,
consider a 2-level linear mixed effects model (LME) with random intercept
AND random slope for level 1 AND 2. Does anybody know how to calculate
Intraclass-coefficient (ICC) for highest (innermost) level 2 ??? In the
literature, I did not find an example for these kind of komplex models.
For 1-level Random-Intercept models it would be easy:
ICC = variance due to the clustering

An ANOVA test that uses a distance matrix like hierarchical cluster analysis?
Hi All,
I have a question which does not pertain directly to the use of R but comes
from my use of R!
I have data which can be described as 3-dimensional e.g. (x,y,z), with no
negative component. The suggested way to analyze this data is via
multivariate techniques or by calculating what amounts to a levene's test on
the data and then an ANOVA on the three components if the first test is

FW: error predicting values from the LME
HI all,
I might add some more information in order to possibly solve my problem. I'm
really stuck and no obvious solutions do the trick.
I'm using R 1.7.1 on Windows 2000 with the packages regurarly updated.
I'm using hypothetical data constructed as a pseudo population conforming to
a certain Var-Cov structure.
I might add that just
> predict(level2)
works. But when I add the
