password problems (shadow?): 2.05a/slackware4.0 (fwd)
...xplained in the DIAGNOSIS.txt file
makes it ask for a password. The only thing that works though is giving
an EMPTY password. Entering my real password (either root or mathias)
results in an error (Bad password)
I am at my wits' end. Any help is greatly appreciated !
Thanks

krb5_cc_get_principal failed (No such file or directory)
Hello,
I am using the brand new SuSE 9.0 with Samba 3.0.0.
I installed:
Heimdal kerberos development libraries 0.6-67,
Openldap development libraries 2.2.22-65,
which are shipped with the distribution.
If I running "kinit administrator@NWTRADERS.COM" I am getting a ticket.
But if I try to run "net ads join -U administrator@NWTRADERS.COM" I am
getting following messages:

Problems with UsePrivilegeSeparation (was: port fwd as user != root?
I just upgraded to OpenSSH3.2.3p1 as it seemed that
UsePrivilegeSeparation yes

the server works fine.

following a packet from sendto() to wire (and reverse)
I am quite unfamiliar with DTrace (and even more with
Solaris/Linux/other) kernel internals.
I recently had to help look into an issue where an application
apparently sent a UDP packet, but it did not appear on the wire, nor
did snoop(1)ing the interface show it, so the assumption is that it
was lost (or misdirected) somewhere in the IP stack.
We did use Dtrace with syscall::sendto:entry/exit to

PAM clustering: using my own dissimilarity matrix
Hello,
I would like to use my own dissimilarity matrix in a PAM clustering with
method "pam" (cluster package) instead of a dissimilarity matrix created
by daisy.
I read data from a file containing the dissimilarity values using
"read.csv". This creates a matrix (alternatively: an array or vector)
which is not accepted by "pam": A call
