...ld errors show up, because I can't find any in the existing log-files of samba ? In pcl2pdf there are some debug-lines, but these do nothing when "used" by samba4, which makes me believe the script is not executed. I did restart samba after I added the section in smb.conf. Thanks, Koenraad

...ncerning the "home-shares" of users ? Are those also on the member-server ? So that needs to be configured with the user-manager ? I now have a single samba3 PDC that acts as fileserver, serving about 30 users. This will move to the new samba4 infrastructure. Thanks for any pointers. Koenraad.

...ine, with smbclient, in about 1 minute. Uploading the file to the WinME-machine also took about 1 minute. I think this proofs that the setup of the network has nothing to do with the slow performance of my samba-server. If someone needs more information, please ask. ...100GB mail while the total backup is a bit more than 300GB. Writing this I realise I could give each user a folder oldmail and symlink that to a read-only oldmail folder. Would this work ? But Administrator has it's own linux-account. Then there is a user that has user-number 4294967295 : "Koenraad:4294967295:Koenraad Lelong", that's me, my linux-user-name (koenraad) already existed. smb.conf is enclosed.
