[Off-topic] Two provider-setup breaks long-running TCP-connections
Sorry for asking this, as I believe it to be a kernel-related rather than Shorewall-related problem. But some of you guys seem to have a lot of experience with these kind of things. I''m setting up a NAT''ing router with two ISP lines. At first sight, everything works as expected, however when the local machines try to keep a TCP-connection open for a long time, it disconnects

IFB working
How to use IFB as replacement of IMQ There is not much documentation about it Please explain with example -- Failure seldom stops you. What stops you is the fear of failure. _______________________________________________ LARTC mailing list LARTC@mailman.ds9a.nl http://mailman.ds9a.nl/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/lartc

How do I limit download speed by ip address on the LAN?
Hello there, I can modify /etc/shorewall/tcdevices to control overall IN-BANDWITH. It is quite effective. Just change 2mbit to 128kbit. However, how do I limit download speed for a certain host IP on the LAN? I want to limit host 192.168.1.140 download speed to 128Kbit. Other hosts on the 192.168.1.0 LAN can still surf at 2mbit. Any input welcome. Kind Regards, Michael

Protocol 2 remote port forwarding
Hi all, I'm using openssh-2.9p2 on Solaris 2.8. I can get remote port forwarding to work using the -R flag, but only with ssh protocol 1 not ssh protocol 2. I've read that remote forwarding protocol 2 was not supported in earlier versions of openssh, but I'm wondering if this is still the case. Policy based routing support for IPv6 in Linux
Hi all, I have a dual stacked (IPv4/IPv6) Linux host (S) with two interfaces that can both be used to reach a destination (D) and are both up. In order to make sure a packet is transmitted over the correct interface I use policy based routing to choose the correct routing table based on the IP source address. The network setup is shown below: |---| | D | |---| | | |---|

client disconnecting
Hi, I have two connections to the Internet. I implemented the load balancing as described in chapter 4.2 "Routing for multiple uplinks/providers" The problem that occurred is that the client applications like Yahoo Messenger or even PuTTY (SSH client) are loosing the connection very often. Does anyone experienced this problem? Does anyone knows an workaround for this problem?
