OT: Multiple SIP phones behind NAT gateway?
Hi, I know this is slightly off topic but I figured the knowlege here is probably the best on the subject.. I want to setup remote offices with 4 to 6 SIP phones (SNOM 200) using ADSL and the internet to connect to the Asterisk box.. These phone will be behind an ADSL router using NAT... I don't want to setup another Asterisk system in each office so IAX...

on demand server
Hello, I am trying to set up a stream server for audio archives. I've just tried Icecast2 / Ices, and it is really good stuff, but I cannot yet get what I want : streaming on demand. I would like the user to just "click and stream" on the web page (and not listen to a stream that is already running). I don't know if it is possible with Icecast/Ices. Any suggestions would be

Package development on Windows - latest guidance?
I would like to start building R packages under Windows XP. I have programming experience and a minimal but working knowlege of many Unix (-like) programming tools. The package functions (for now) will be from R source, not C or Fortran. I've installed Rtools, Perl, the MS hhc, and so on. I am setting up a command shell with the correct PATH for building packages. (The master Windows PATH points to different vers...

Configuring wine
...to be rebooted to continue. I am running the latest Ububntu version with a reasonable spec PC. I have fully renistalled Ubuntu and also removed and reinstalled wine several times. Having searched this forum the only mention of a similar problem is quoted below. I am new to linux and wine but fairly knowlegable on PCs. Any ideas? Quote 'Running winecfg seems to hang or complain about files when I click the audio tab The hang is caused by the "NAS" sound driver. This causes it to pause for a while but it should respond eventually. The only way to get around this is to remove NAS from you...

different TLS protocols on different ports

People like to kid themselve about this, but I think you'll find there's little difference. There's not a big gap between people knowlegeable enough to pull the download url out of the m3u file and paste it into their browser, and people knowlegable enough to pull the icecast url out of the m3u file and paste it into their browser. Hope that helps, -r --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ icecast project ho...

For lack of knowlege of a better place to put this, I'm reporting an error on the CentOS FAQ. Video Codecs, Video Editing and Wine
...tudio uses windows and DirectX codecs--I don't know which ones yet. The "Developers-Hints" describes msvideo.dll and msrle32.dll as "video codecs" and the "Wine Developer's Guide" describes msvfw32.dll as a "32-bit windows video system." With the knowlege that I gained about MPEG2 codecs, is it a good assumption to say that the dll's I just mentioned are MPEG1 codecs? The "Wine Developer's Guide" describes d3d*.dll as "DriectX/Direct drawing libraries." I have concluded that d3d8 would imply DirectX8. Is that corr...

...;t imagine using such a function myself, the reason being that as Bill and Duncan point out, the correct answer depends on the situation. But given the regular reappearance of this topic, I think that perhaps creation of your function is a good idea, largely to function as a repository for the knowlege. If one takes that view, then perhas the function has two optional arguments: "case" and "tolerance". The first would choose a scenario of "exact", "numeric", "count", etc, where exact refers to Duncan's case, numeric to your default, and...

Qeury regarding 64GB SSD + 2tb?
...s) enough 2. Is it necessary to have GPT label and EFI on /dev/sdc? 3. Will it affect in anyway sda and sdb (I am not choosing to format them)? any pointers with information to wrap my head around FC17 was running fine after I fsck-ed the /dev/sdc4 which had vanished when this box came in. To my knowlege, a root file system of size 64GB should be handled peacefully by centos. GPT comes into picture only on > 2tb partitions for different mountpoints. or is it that any system mounting more than 2tb disk as non-root will necessarily need a boot disk with a GPT label and EFI partition? Am I righ...

please help ! label selected data points in huge number of data points potentially as high as 50, 000 !
...687 9 M9 81 0.162663127 ........ 5000 observations I need to plot xvar (x variable) and p (y variable) using either plot () or xyplot(). And I want show (print to graph) datapoint name labels to those rows that have p value < 0.01 (means that they are significant). With my limited R knowlege I can use text (x,y, labels) option to manually add the text, but I have huge number of data point(though I provide just 1000 here, potentially it can go upto 50,000). So I want to display name corresponding to those observations (rows) that have pvalue less than 0.05 (threshold). Here is my ex...

Billing pulses
Hello, I've discovered that in Italy ISDN lines can be programmed to generate a "billing pulse" every n seconds (it dipends from the pricebook). The pulse has these figures: frequency .................................................................... 12 kHz ? 1% level .......................................................................... 200 mVrms on 200

How to have multiple fields appear in collection_select?
I have a table of employees with the fields "last_name" and "first_name". I would like to populate a collection select so that what the user sees in the drop-down is "Last Name, First Name". So far, the only way I have figured out to do this is by using "find_by_sql" in my model, like so: @employees.find_by_sql("SELECT id, concat(last_name,

Speex on Nokia 6600
Hmm, what these instructions do? (I know nothing about ARMs; I have some knowlege about x86 assemblers and programming). Cant we use pure standard C++ or Java? Does Speex work with fixedpoint math? (As far as I know Java on 6600 has no builtin floatingpoint, there is emulation class somewhere on the net, but it is probably painfully slow.) I do not know if this processor ha...

...inear group would allow the other variables' possibly significant effects to be measured. Question 1) Is this legitimate at all? Can I do regression using the entire data set over only selected factors while ignoring others? (Admittedly I only just got my Bachelor's in math; the gaps in my knowlege here are profound and aggravating.) Question 2) How do I go about selecting possible colinear explanatory variables? I had originally thought I'd just make a matrix of coefficients of colinearity for each pair of variables and iteratively re-run the model until I got the results I wanted, but...
