R running as a server on windows?
Hi there, I'm not sure whether this is the right mailing list to put this question... if not, please tell me where I can find help. I have a spare dual-core machine which run Windows XP Professional and is nearly unused (nearly! Unfortunately, I cannot change OS). And I'm investigating Knime (knime.org) to set up data analysis workflows. They have some nodes to execute R on a remote machine. Is it possible to run R on this windows machine, so that I can call it from somewhere else? Antje

Problems in Recommending R
...etting to people who are newly introduced to R ( especially in this cost cutting recession) is - 1) The website looks a bit old. While the current website does have a lot of hard work behind it, should n't a world class statistics package have a better website instead. You can check out www.knime.org which is an open source software , and free, and supports R---and notice the change in perception . experimenting (like Weka Experimenter)
Hi. I am not that good at R but I was wondering if there is either a tool or a strategy for testing many different models in R in a batch. I have used something in Weka called the Experimenter interface which helps with doing this kind of thing. Thank you. Andy [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

GUI Red-R
Atte.Patricio Fuenmayor V. How to deploy statistical models built in R in real-time?
...get back from your models? As you may know, a PMML package is available for R that allows for many mining model to be exported into the Predictive Model Markup Language. PMML is the standard way to represent models and can be exported from most statistical packages (including SPSS, SAS, KNIME, ...). Once your model is represented as a PMML file, it can easily be moved around. PMML allows for true interoperability. We have recently published an article about PMML on The R Journal. It basically describes the PMML language and the package itself. If you are interested in finding ou...
