...kernel (in /var/log/messages), but that's about it, no network device is being created (iwconfig does not see it, nothing else works). A few google searches later I found out that this realtek chip is not supported by the kernel and requires a driver, and that the driver is packaged for C7 as kmod-8188eu in elrepo. However, I installed the latest CentOS-plus kernel (2.6.18-8.1.8.el5.centos.plus) but there doesn't appear to be a kmod-gndb for this kernel. Looks like the latest kmod-gnbd is available for kernel 2.6.18-8.1.8.el5. But I cannot find a kmod-drbd for this kernel. Am I missing something or is this worth a entry in the buglist? Since December there have been several kernel updates to the centosplus repository for centos4... but no updates to kmod-xfs or kmod-drbd82. Latest kernel is 2.6.9-78.0.13.plus.c4, but latest kmod-xfs is 2.6.9_78.0.5.plus.c4. Latest drbd82 kmod is also for 78.0.5. I know there was a mention on the list that these modules are not kernel dependent anymore... but yum and rpm seem to indicate otherwise, and trying to...

All, This is just a heads-up that the new C7 update kernel breaks ABI compatibility, at least as far as using the ELrepo nVidia drivers is concerned. I have posted more details to the ELrepo list; but since many folks use the Elrepo kmods I thought a heads-up would be appropriate. If you use the ELrepo nvidia kmod you will either need to hold off on the kernel update or uninstall the nvidia kmod.
