Repository / builds for Debian "buster"?
Speaking of repositories...
Debian "buster" (future version 10) has for some time been "stage 1 frozen" (if I have the terminology right) and quite usable.
Perhaps it's starting to make sense to make a repo / start producing builds?

Panic with namespace
Hi,
I was trying to configure a namespace like this:
10-mail.conf
namespace inbox {
prefix = "iNBox."
inbox = yes
}
And when a client connected, I got the panic below. Dovecot version is 2.3.4.1
(f79e8e7e4) on Debian 10.

Delayed flags changes over IDLE
...default_idle_kill = 1 mins
director_ping_idle_timeout = 30 secs
imap_idle_notify_interval = 2 mins
imapc_max_idle_time = 29 mins
mailbox_idle_check_interval = 30 secs
What can I do to make Dovecot notify IDLE clients about flags changes - more quickly? Preferably near-instant?

Samba 4 provisioning error on Ubuntu 12.04
Hi all,
I am trying hard to get a Ubuntu server up and running with Samba 4 installed so it can function as an? Activie Directory server in windows network.
I installed 12.04 on a reasonable box and this went well.
I then followed the instructions for getting Samba 4 installed and running.

I was able to complete steps 1 to 3 - get,

eliminate version information
I want to eliminate the Samba version information that appears when
mapping a share on a samba server from windows explorer (winxp). As an
example after mapping a drive in windows, say drive t:, explorer shows
drive t: mapped as: 'homes on 'Samba 3.0.20b-3.4-SUSE (servername)'
How can I eliminate the samba version info, 'Samba 3.0.20b-3.4-SUSE'
from windows explorer.
I have

So it looks triggered by a combination of mbox + SELECT (CONDSTORE)?

r code to generate interaction columns
Hi,
is there a way to take a dataset and extract numeric columns and create interaction columns from it automatically?
For e.g. there are 5 columns of data: A,B,C,D,E.
CDE are numeric.
Can someone provide code to automatically create more columns such as:
1) C*D, C*E, C*D*E, (C+E)/(D+.01 (to avoid divide by zero), (D+E)/(C+.01 (to avoid divide by zero), (C+D)/(E+.01 (to avoid

ssl_verify_server_cert against SAN?
Have you considered any alternatives?
I'm thinking of IPSec to create a secured network encapsulation channel(s) "above" the TCP connection(s).
This would provide encryption with control over cipher(s), and cert validation on both sides (if you used cert auth, not PSK).

New rwiki page for "large scale data"
Dear list,
There is a new rwiki (http://rwiki.sciviews.org) section for 'large scale
data' at http://rwiki.sciviews.org/doku.php?id=large_scale_data. This is a
massive topic of interest to many. I could use some help filling in the
content so that this can develop into a powerful resource for the
r-community. I hope you like it, and I hope you are willing to help make it
better.
