running rspec on 1.2.3 ??
Hi,
Anyone know how to run rspec on 1.2.3?
It fails out of the box....
I newly downloaded rspec, rspec_on_rails and ran the command
ruby script/generate rspec ==>>> Does this script work right?
from the instructions http://rspec.info/documentation/rails/install.html
I then created the directories in spec:

Make AR setter methods private?
Hi,
I have a AR model that I want to limit changes to be only via instance
methods that I''ve added.
How do I prevent my other sw from setting the instance''s attributes?
I know about #attr_protected and #attr_readonly. But the first leaves
the individual setters as they were and the second stops all changes.
I want something like "attr_private"
Thoughts?
Thanks,

post.author.full_name to see the full_name column.
But:
a) all columns of author are pulled down
b) Not clear to me how

rake: uninitialized const ActionController::TestUploadedFile
Hi,
My app uses attachment_fu and I''d like to pre-load some data via a rake
task.
Thus:

task :upload_files_test => :environment do |t|
conf = Conference.find(1)
[{:f => ''styles.css'', :type_code => ''css'', :content_type =>
''text/css''}].each do |i|

Using view helpers from a controller
Hi,
I want to access a view helper from a controller.
(Of course, you all want to know why??? -- See below.)
To be specific, I want to access methods such as
ActionView::Helpers::FormTagHelper -- form_tag and text_field_tag
from either a controller or from a new class (in models? or lib?).
If I create the new class then that class''s methods need to also be able
to access the
