Speed issue
Hi all,
I am trying to migrate a NetWare file server to samba (on Red Hat 9).
My problem is that unfortunatelly samba is somehow painfully slow, when we run DOS programs from it on the client machines.
The NetWare server is an ancient machine. P1, probably.
The Samba server is P4 3G, 1G RAM, RAID mirroring, etc.
We are running and old DOS program on the client machines, and when it's

weird home share problem
Hi list
During my samba3 pdc ldap backend set up I encountered a new problem. I

groupmap not working correctly
Currently, my company is trying to deploy a Samba 3.0 server with an
LDAP back end, for domain authentication. Everything's going extremely
well so far except for one facet: net groupmap doesn't seem to play well
with LDAP. I can make the mappings just fine:
hank:/var# net groupmap list

third time logon from client removes administration rights
Hi,
I have this problem, where if I logon and off three times on a winXP
client I lose all administration rights on the third logon, and have to
restart the client workstation to get rights again. I have a stock fedora
core 1 samba install, and is running off of an openldap backend. If anyone
knows why this is happenning then please help me. If you need any more
info, be happy to provide.
Thanks

Domain privileges lost after second logon
Hi,
I'm hoping someone will help me fix an annoying problem.
I have a Redhat fedora core 1 machine, with the stock installation of samba
acting as a primary domain controller. I'm using an LDAP backend, and I'm
not using any mandatory profiles.
When someone logs into a newly booted winXP or w2k machine, everything works
fine. The groups are there and everybody has their
