Slightly OT: Has SILK codec gotten anywhere?
Hi, I stumbled upon mentions of a "SILK" codec last night on skypes "skype for sip" information page. I tried looking into it further and found some blog and mailing list posts from 2009 but I can't find any mentions of anything other than skype using the codec. Has the codec not gotten anywhere so far? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SILK

Was that solution successful? Has using an I/F card with a DSP proved to be the better solutions? We are beginners with Asterisk so any help/advice on how to best implement non-native Codecs into Asterisk will be

Important security alert: update your dialplans now!
Friends, Last week, Hans Petter Selansky alerted us of a potential security issue in all releases of Asterisk. In fact, it doesn't involve the code, but the most common way to construct dialplans. If you have something like this in your Asterisk, you need to update your dialplans: [incoming-from-voip] exten => _X., 1, dial(SIP/${EXTEN}) Many VoIP protocols support a large character set,

Asterisk on AVR32
Greetings everyone, I'm trying to compile asterisk for an AVR32 (Atmel NGW100). Buildroot for AVR32 already has the asterisk package, though it has bugs. Firstly it tries to apply a patch for 1.2 on a 1.6, but deleting the contents of the patch file did the trick. Now, the problem is making asterisk. The first error is because asterisk needed to be ./configure:ed. Trying to just do

DNS queries based on channel name?
What are these dns queries for? I'd like to disable them but I cant find any obvious reference to them in the asterisk source.
