Kickoff time expired, how to change?
...for the backend.
Basically I copied the entire /etc/samba directory from the old to the new
server and used rsync to keep the users directories up to date with each
other.
The problem is, on the new machine, if I look at a users information using
pdbedit -Lv <username> I see that the Kickoff time and Password Must Change
fields are both set to Wed, 31 Dec 1969 16:59:59 MST. This results in the
users account being "expired" and of course they cannot log in. I can
change the Password Must change field easily enough, but I cannot find any
reference to Kickoff Time that does no...

MySQL authentication & kickoff time?
...en't tried this yet (waiting for samba
to compile on a really slow machine, heh) but it looks great.
Is anybody using this? Would you recommend it for use in a heavy use
type environment?
I've noticed in the README for this there's identifiers for "logoff
time" and "kickoff time". Hmm. Basically, the clients are Windows XP
machines, and previously I had written a Windows client / UNIX server
infastructure to do this logging off.
Can samba actually "kick" users off after a certain amount of time?
Wow.
If it can, someone let me know how :)

Java Installation HowTo kickoff (JDK 1.4.2, 1.5 and 1.6)
I've started a Java Installation HowTo.
Take a look: http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dfd4fncx_32gbthmp
Give me feedback, please.
The IBM JDK is the "easiest" on 1.4.2 and 1.5 versions.
The Sun JDK 1.6 is probably the most optimized (and the only
1.6implementation by now), but doesn't integrate so good like IBM
JDK's
generated RPMs.
The BEA's JPackage nosrcs are so much

Is there a howto for using redboot to kickoff a pxelinux boot?
The subject says it all.
I'm using rocks cluster software to startup a small blade cluster in my
lab. The blades I have redboot installed on them. I am able to boot
any client that has pxeboot capability using my setup, except for these
blades. My thoughs were using redboot commands to do the following:
1. load -v -r -b 0x8000000 -h 10.1.1.1 pxelinux.0
2. start
This however caused my

Automatic logoff, kickoff time, etc.
Hello. I am in the process of setting up a home network where 2 of the users
will be kids. Because of this, I have decided that it would be nice to have
a login time restriction for thier XP workstations, as well as an automatic
logoff time. This can be done with any Windows domain controller, and I've
had halfway luck with Samba.
What I've done so far... I've gotten Samba to use PAM

Logon Hours with Samba PDC
...Samba PDC and
have mapped shares, authenticated users, blah blah blah, .... everything
seems to work fine. I checked with 'rpcclient' to see what sort of
information is returned from 'rpcclient -c "queryuser [rid]" [server]' and
did notice 'logon_hrs' and 'Kickoff Time" fields returned so I assumed I
could specifiy times during a day when a user can/cannot logon to the
domain. I then tried using the standard Windows tools "i.e. User Manager
for Domains" to specifiy logon times but always receive an error "Group Name
