matching character substrings
Hello, Is there a function for searching a string for a given character? For example, I have transcriptions like tsibi tSibi tibi kibi I want to search the character object for the presence of 's' or 'S' or 'k'. I thought perhaps pmatch(c("k", "S", "s"), x) would work for me, but it wants to compare from the start of the string and returns

[ANNOUCE] iproute2 update
A new version of the iproute2 utilities is available to handle the new extensions for 2.6.7. * Based on the last known good version of iproute2 from Alexy * Included most of the vendor patches (except for the stupid ones). * Got rid of lots of the glibc workarounds, I intend this to build and run on 2.6 (and 2.4) only. * Fixed some parsing and formatting bugs. * Added gigabit as a rate.

Being strict on differentiating between IEC prefixes and SI prefixes.
One of the greatest things about rails is that it is so standards-compliant, no other framework that I have seen have complied to the HTTP standard (think REST) in such a degree that Rails does. Kudos to you all for that. I think we (Rails community) should follow the line of standards compliance and also take it to the binary prefixes [1], i.e. kilobytes, megabytes, etc. For more than half a

How to monitor network usage
So I was poking around through the virt-manager and I saw the option for ''network usage''. I''ve been trying to figure out a way to make sure I know how much bandwidth my VM''s are using in a quick and easy way. Whether I can script out a report or just log on and look real quickly. So the point of this is what do I need to do to view network usages on my

Any known problems using xrandr with Nouveau
Running Debian Wheezy Hardware: Older P4 3.06 GHz video: Nvidia FX 5700LE Monitor is 25.5 asus LCD with 1900x1280 native resolution. (xrander sees it as 1400x900) (I've included the output of xrandr -q at the end, also following that output is Xorg.0.log) I recently made some effort to obtain a large pannable desktop like I have used for many years.
