Samba ver 2.2.2 - socket read - WinXP
...th Samba version 2.2.2. I am using
it to serve Micro$ Access to end users. It works very well on a prior
version of Unix, with older Win2k clients. Now, with my current version,
and Win XP Pro, I have problems. Periodically, they get abruptly kicked out.
I get syslog errors which look like:

WINDOWS Security on a share
Is it possible to use the Windows security on a Samba share which resides
on a Unix server which is a MEMBER of a W2K domain ?? I am unable to make
the unix server a PDC due to restrictions in the company. I have 27 users
with different accesses to the same directories/files and I am trying to
avoid a monster smb.conf file. I am running 2.2.5 on an HPUX 11 w/o winbind

Need help HPUX11 and winbind (pwgetent)
Hello,
I have Samba 2.2.5 installed with winbind. on an HPUX 11 server. I am
using Domain security using a W2K PDC. I have successfully joined the
domain, and wbinfo commands (-t -u -g ) all come back with good data. The
problem is I can not get pwgetent to run. It always says not found. I have
the libnss_winbind.so libraries linked in /lib, and winbind in my
nsswitch.conf. Also have the

ext3 fs unable to stat
Hi,
I am running RH 7.2 (professional release 2.4 kernel) I have a ext3 file
system which stores large oracle "dump files" over 4GB. We write to it via
NFS which is working great, the problem is when we issue a file
largefile.dmp from the linux box it fails on anything over 4GB stating that
can't stat 'largefile.dmp' (value too large for defined data type). We can
