Building Xen from source
...All attempts to build from source fail when retrieval of linux-2.26.18 is flagged "Tarball download failed" by gpg, which returns 512. This happens on both machines, every time I try to build. Actually, every build attempt (in both machines) takes a LONG time downloading and saving to .ketchup/linux-2.6.18.tar.bz2.partial, and seems to succeed in that part. Building Xen: failure to launch
...kefile is ".PHONY: build" Line 21 of my Makefile just says "build: kernels" (Does anyone know what''s going on here?) At this point, the build process enters a long, slow build process evidently retrieving the linux kernels and spooling partial results to `/home/rich/.ketchup/linux-2.6.18.tar.bz2.partial'' That eventually reaches 100% and completes. controllers, models and views in plugins
Hello all, Is it possible to package controllers, models and views in a plugin? The tutorials for plugins seem rather sparse at the moment... I''ve written a form "widget" that I''ve been using as a partial that I would like to reuse in other projects. I was thinking about making a component out of it, but I need to be able to access some of the form data that it

RPM upgrade question
I upgraded my samba package on my RedHat 6.1 installation via RPM. I used the samba-2.0.7-20000425.i386.rpm file. I had to first uninstall the packages: samba-common-2.0.5a-12 samba-client-2.0.5a-12 because of package dependencies. I'm guessing, then, that the samba-2.0.7-20000425 package includes the files that had been included separately with the common and client packages. Is this

...ne, 2 minutes. Chrony cannot supply time info, so if you have clients requesting time info the server cannot serve time, you need ntpd for that. Windows 3.1 and Samba
Has anybody got some experience with connecting machines running Windows3.1 or WfWG (3.11) to Samba? We would like to run a small lab network with user accounts and a shared printer off the samba box. Samba is running fine and there's no problem to connect to it from the Win95/WinNT machines... nmbd over ppp
hello everyone. I don't have a network, but I'm trying to get my friend to dialin and use my shares that I have provided via smb. Now I have a big prob with nmbd and ppp. Under Interfaces I can specify ppp* 192.168.0.2 , which is the ip that the dialin user is assigned and yet still nmbd shuts down showing an error that no interfaces were found. # route -n Kernel IP routing

smbfs mounted files created owned by root?
Hi all. We have been denying NFS access to our Linux et al users since they can of course set their uid to whatever they want. So we tell them to use smbfs. But when I just tried experimenting by mounting my own network share on my Linux box via smbfs, and created a few files, I loo on the serevr and the files are all owned by root?! This has got to be a configuration issue right? -- Mark E

non-digest format of this list?
I always get the messages of this list in a digest format. This is bad to handle, esp. if you want to answer a question found in the digest. Does everyone else also get the list as a digest? Is there a way to switch to single messages? If not how do I easily answer messages which the subject correctly set? Or how do I automatically split the digest into the separate messages? For your

Am I trying the wrong things?
I'm having some small trouble getting my local lan running the way I want. I have two samba servers, Windows 95, 98, and NT Workstation systems on it (which are also doing some peer-to-peer sharing). It's all one IP net; there's an ethernet switch in the middle, and a couple of peripheral hubs each connected to that switch. Note that I do NOT have an NT Server system; I'm not
