CentOS 5.3 getent does not return data from the active directory (ads) I have installed and configured kerberos and samba so that the server can be a member of an existing Active Directory (AD). Hi, my Situation: a w2k-server set in mixed mode as ADS-Server,a debian machine with latest stable samba compiled self with ADS-support. samba machine joined to ADS-Domain succesfully, winbindd installed and configured, all w2k users and groups visible on samba-server. Browsing and connecting to w2k-server and samba-server from the samba server with smbclient and -k option works fine for all

I've been looking at several posts for weeks now and finally concluded through testing how to install Samba 3.X into the Windows Active Directory environment. I was completely under the impression that you needed to load Kerbos/ LDAP and a bunch of other stuff. In our case our ADS is running in native mode and I was able to join the domain quite easily.
