client connections seems high
...rs' all connections and keeps just incrementing that
number as new connections occure. See it as a counter for the total amount
of connections since the server was started. The true number of connected
clients can be extracted from the stats.xsl files in the servers admin
pages.

xspf.xsl
...link in the admin pages doesn't work.
I used the lastest SVN checkout.
I think it's just the simple case of the xspf.xsl file not being copied to
the installation directory on 'make install'.
I copied the file to share/icecast/admin/ and the link works just fine.

Live Ogg/Theora+Vorbis streams
Hi people,
Just wanted to let you know that we're streaming GUADEC, the GNOME users
and developers conference.
The information is up at http://stream1.hia.no/
I can't be sure, but I think this is the first "public" event streamed
in Ogg/Theora. A big round of thanks to the Xiph.org people and the
icecast people currently mirroring us.
If you look at the streams, let us know

non-ogg since it is fighting for open standards.
To me, that would not be the case when you put the list on dir.icecast.org
for instance. Icecast makes it possible to stream MP3 and AAC+ so maybe it
makes more sense to have the yp listings availble on an Icecast web
location.

separate source and client ports
...it did not work (surprise surpise!). Since I am no C programmer, can anyone help me out?
I know there are several reasons for going for just one port, I understand completely, but it's such an easy to realtime detect broadcasts.
Thanks for reading and any answers that follow.

Daemontools and icecast / ices2
Hi all,
I'm trying to use daemontools to manage the icecast server.
I've got it installed and working (with qmail)
However it wont work with icecast.
My run file has the contents:
-------------------------------
#!/bin/sh
exec setuidgid icecast /usr/local/bin/icecast -c /usr/local/etc/icecast.xml
------------------------
I have also tried it using icecasts built in

[Icecast-dev] metadata fallback mounts
...ortunately, when I look at the /play.ogg metadata in status.xsl, it is al
empty.
Do I use the wrong metadata tags in the config or is this normal behaviour for
a non-connected mount which only serves as main entry mount point?
Thanks for reading and any reaction that may follow.

listener authentication for multiple mountpoints; client connections seems high
Two quick questions:
1. Is it ok to use the same password file for multiple mountpoints, or
will that cause problems?
2. Why would my clients number 113 larger than my number of listeners?
It was right earlier today, but when I restarted the sources it
increased by 113, and it has stayed that high since then. I find it
especially odd since I have clients set to 100 in icecast.xml, and

dir.xiph.org only listing Ogg streams
Everyone,
I have modified the yp cgi script on dir.xiph.org to reject non-ogg
streams. As the site has grown in popularity, it hasn't scaled well,
and maintaining the database was eating most of the resources on the
server. We did some minor tuning a few months ago which helped, but
the load has continuted to grow and was affecting other more essential
services.
Given Xiph.org's
