Again kea DHCP-Server
Well? I?m not convinced KEA can?t be simple DHCP, though I understand that one would never know that from reading the KEA documentation. The following is a complete KEA configuration suitable to do a single subnet. In fact, you could probably get away with slightly less. I?ve replaced the unique addresses from my environment...

Again kea DHCP-Server
Hi to all, nearly one year ago someone ask about the kea-DHCP support for Samba. In the Samba wiki I still can only find the idc-dhcp stuff. @Rowland will you (and can you) replace or add the setup of kea to the wiki? Would be nice :-) Stefan

ACL problem after upgrade from 3.0.24 to 3.4.5
...ilure (the interface refreshed its view and the added rights has disappeared again). No other problem has been found, and i cannot reproduce this problem using a smbfs mount on a GNU/Linux box. The only strange thing i found was the result of smbcacls for a test file and user being : ACL:KEAspuig:ALLOWED/0x0/0x001e01ff I don't know what is 0x001e01ff when i expected FULL (due to 'acl map full control = true'). My smb.conf file is attached. The detailed log when trying to add the missing right is also attached. Any help would be much appreciated. Regards. -- Marc Deq...

DCs in multiple VLANs
...HCP relay (we have a pfsense there)? > > I get the idea but I don't yet fully understand how the target DHCP > server would know which VLANs the requests belong to. What I don't like about that idea: I could only forward to one DHCP-Server IP ... that would make my nice 2-node-Kea-cluster a bit less useful. No failover then, right? Or could I simply remove the multiple DNS-records created for the DC after enabling it on all VLAN-interfaces, so that there is only one record pointing to its LAN IP?

libvirt and NAT on a system that already has a DHCP server
I'm trying to use virt-manager and qemu/kvm on Arch Linux. The box I'm using is also the router for my house. It runs a kea DHCP server. When I try to start the default NAT network, it can't start dnsmasq because that port is already bound. Is there a way to have it not bind on this interface? I see there is an except-on statement in the dnsmasq.conf, but I can't add lines to that directly, and I didn't see...

How about a mascot for R?
R users, How come R doesn't have a mascot? Linux has one and so does LaTeX, so shouldn't R? I personally think that associating a "friendly face" with R would be a good thing for R (one letter names can be quite intimidating). I apologize if this is addressed in the FAQ. I searched the FAQ as well as the mailing list archives and checked ?mascot but to no avail. ;-)

DCs in multiple VLANs
I have 2 DCs at a customer that also run ISC-Kea-DHCP servers. To be able to provide DHCP-Leases I added virtual interfaces to the servers with IPs in each VLAN. In turn there also exist routes to the VLANs: # ip r default via 10.0.0.254 dev enp0s31f6 onlink 10.0.0.0/24 dev enp0s31f6 proto kernel scope link src 10.0.0.230 10.100.40.0/24 dev e...

DCs in multiple VLANs

Something like a DHCP relay (we have a pfsense there)? I get the idea but I don't yet fully understand how the target DHCP server would know which VLANs the requests belong to. Will research. Thanks.

Logging client commands (patch)
...t 1.0.5 adds support for two new configuration params: pop3_debug_client_commands = TOP, RETR, DELE imap_debug_client_commands = FETCH, DELETE Obviously add in whichever ones you're interested in, or none, or comment them out completely. It'll log the appropriate events: Oct 12 18:30:18 kea dovecot: IMAP(zach): Client command: FETCH The parameters are included for POP3 events. Wasn't sure quite how to do the same for IMAP and for my purposes it's not too important so imap command parameters aren't logged. Running smoothly here with a few dozen IMAP and POP3 users. updating to 6.4 broke olvwm/openwin
This morning a handful of workstations got upgraded from 6.3 to 6.4 and things seemed to be functional, until we tried to log in to one of our instrument accounts that for various reasons uses olvwm/openwin as the desktop (and no, I don't have the option of changing that at this time). The desktop appears to load correctly, and mouse-focus and clicking appears to work, but the
