ESD driver?
...loaded. The version of ESD that I am using has support for ALSA in it. So I have all my apps talk to ESD and that way I get mixed sound. Little behind at times, especially in xine, but at least I get all my desktop sounds and MP3 music. Printing under Wine - Mission Impossible?
Hello, I've been trying to print under apps running with wine for a while. In wine docs it says wine automatically detect CUPS printer. Well, I have CUPS installed, everything prints great, except apps running under wine, which say that no printers are installed. CUPS version installed. Debian woody version - 1.1.14.3 Wine version installed. Prepackaged Deb 20021013. Can anyone point me

FC2 RPMs of wine
I was reading the WINE Traffic #245 and so I thought about trying the RPMs that Vincent produces for FC2. Before I installed them I looked at the file contents and noticed that there does not seem to be a "fake windows" drive setup in the RPM and that the Windows User tools like Notepad and Control are not in the RPM. Is there another RPM that I need to get to install these tools?

Diablo 2 on FC5 in fullscreen
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 All, I can play Diablo 2 in a window (wine Diablo\ II.exe -w) and it plays fine. But when I don't specify the -w option on command line. Diablo will start but the Gnome panels on the top and bottom stay on top and so those panels interfere with my playing of the game. I would like to be able to play full screen as it is a little easier that way.

permissions, kernel-2.6.8, and wine-20040813
Hi, Yesterday I upgraded to kernel 2.6.8 on my Fedora Core 2 system. This caused a problem with the version of wine I'd been using (20040505), so I upgraded wine to the current version (20040813). The remaining problem is as follows: I'm calling wine like this: wine start.exe vcbuild.bat and vcbuild.bat contains the following: set QMAKESPEC=win32-msvc.net set

Application Database RFC
I have done a lot of thinking about the Application Database http://appdb.codeweavers.com lately and how the rating system works. We currently have 848 Applications in there but only 58 with a 5 star rating which works out to less than 10% and thats the good news. The bad news is that of those 58 only 26 rate that without windows installed. After takeing a closer look, none of the apps I

Diablo II, Wine and GCC 4.0
I was reading the notes about using Diablo II under Wine and I noticed that one of the requirements was not to have Wine compiled with gcc 4.0. Is this still the case and if so why would the compiler make a difference? I know I could run with a cracked version of Diablo II, but I would prefer not to. Re: wine overstepping the mark?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 The running of wine programs is not controlled by the mimetype but by a feature of the linux kernel. In /etc/init.d you might find a init script called wine. This script uses the kernel modules binfmt_misc to tell the linux kernel that when it encounters a file being executed with a special byte in the header to call it with wine. You can disable
