Problems with yum/rpm and %pre scriptlet error 255
I am running xen (2.6.16-xen3_86.1_rhel4.1) on top of a stock CentOS-4.4
installation. I have not added any additional virtual machines however.
When trying to install (as root) acrobat reader 7 for Linux from the adobe
rpm (AdobeReader_enu.i386 7.0.8-1) I get the following errors:
error: %pre(AdobeReader_enu-7.0.8-1.i386) scriptlet failed, exit status 255
error: install: %pre scriptlet

kde2_what's thaT?
Hi,
I'm using Mandrake 7.0 kernel 2...14-15mdk.
As far as I could gather I can't install kde 2.0.1. It needs kernel
2...15.
Do I really need to recompile the kernel? Is it worth doing? I've heard
KDE_2 very unstable.
Should I wait for more stable 2.1 version?
Is it possible to have KDE 1.1.2 and the new 2.01 without destroying
previous setting, just to test?
Thank you in advance

Passing LD_LIBRARY_PATH through sudo
Hello,
I have a CentOS 5.5/64bit VM, where I only have sudo rights:
afarber ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD: ALL
I'm trying to pass LD_LIBRARY_PATH
through sudo to install DBD::Oracle
and have tried using "sudo -E" and also
changing these lines in the stock /etc/sudoers:

ChrootDirectory - SFTP subsystem works fine but SSH hangs
Hi
I'm using Centos 5 with Openssh-5.0p1 installed (and OpenSSL 0.98b and
Zlib 1.2.3-3). I've managed to get a chroot'd SFTP session using
ChrootDirectory and the new built-in SFTP subsystem. However, when I
use SSH to connect to the same account the session hangs rather than
closing the connection. This happens whether or not I use
/sbin/nologin /bin/false or even /bin/sh

Failure to Launch (was override -q option)
Attached is the very verbose ssh output. Just to be perverse, this time two
nodes lost connectivity. The only thing I see is lines saying that the two
connections are lost, although being honest I have no idea what everything
else means. For reference, 8 ssh cinnections were being made at the same
time for a 8x8mpi task.
N.B., since the OS I am using does not have rsh, I am currently using the
