wine and window managers
Hi! Does wine run with any window manager? Wine (wine-20001202) delivered with SuSE Linux 7.1 does only run when KDE2 is my window manager. Is this normal? -- Thomas

kde2_what's thaT?
Hi, I'm using Mandrake 7.0 kernel 2...14-15mdk. As far as I could gather I can't install kde 2.0.1. It needs kernel 2...15. Do I really need to recompile the kernel? Is it worth doing? I've heard KDE_2 very unstable. Should I wait for more stable 2.1 version? Is it possible to have KDE 1.1.2 and the new 2.01 without destroying previous setting, just to test? Thank you in advance

Subtle changes after installing Transgaming Patch
...ansgaming patch, which including patching wine to the 29th Jan version. Since that time, some subtle changes seems to have occurred. These are a) Previously wine had been started from simple command line /usr/local/bin/wine agent I am not sure what directory I was in (its set up as a button on kde2 panel - and I haven't worked out exactly what directory that leaves you in - I suspect /usr/local/bin) but since "path" was set in the wine config to include C:\Program Files\Agent (I have removed \\ etc) The program was found - AND SO WAS the agent.ini file stored in that directo...

Wine installer
Hi, when I run ./tools/wineinstall, I get this: Warning !! wine binary (still) found, which may indicate a (conflicting) previous installation. You might want to abort and uninstall Wine first. rpm -qa | grep wine gives nothing find / "*wine*" gives: /etc/opt/kde2/share/applnk/SuSE/Settings/YaST/notinstalled/System/Emulator/wine.desktop /etc/opt/kde2/share/applnk/SuSE/Settings/YaST/notinstalled/System/Configuration/wine.desktop /etc/wine.conf /usr/X11R6/share/icons/png/hicolor/all/normal.wine_doc.png /usr/X11R6/share/icons/png/hicolor/all/big.wine_doc.png /u...

Window position in managed mode
When starting, for example, FreeCell in managed more, the program opens with the top of the window out of the top of my screen (i.e. the top corner of my desktop coincides with the top-left of the menu bar). It's not a huge problem, but I can't move the program... -- ------------------------------------------------- Richard Spandit Firmly on the Linux wagon SuSE 6.3, KDE 2.0

a-gnome-oyences
Most of my users are on kde, as am I (I really don't like gnome). I've got one on gnome, though, CentOS 6.4, and I have a problem: I have to start an agent running ->on login<-, so that the same one is in the environment of every term window he opens. In kde, no problem, I modify /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc-common so that code in there calls our (newer) ssh-agent instead of the stock one.
