sshd refusing connections problem
...| grep '\.22 ' output is at : http://www.lambertfam.org/~lambert/sshd_problem/netstat-an_sshd Faked the first two octets of the other users' IPs. Once I -HUP the sshd process and it forks a new daemon, everything is ok for another week or two. -- Scott Lambert KC5MLE Unix SysAdmin lambert@lambertfam.org

OpenBSD version???
...d while Linux is acceptable, I have FreeBSD boxen laying around all over the place doing other tasks with more than enough spare ooomph to handle Asterisk. I could roll out 4 VoIP installations tomorrow, with PSTN tie-ins to follow, if it would run on FreeBSD. -- Scott Lambert KC5MLE Unix SysAdmin lambert@lambertfam.org

problems after adding FXS module to TDM400P
...properly configured be causing these problems? I can work on the config remotely but I don't have any way to test the FXS extensions. If anyone has config changes they think I should try, or if you need to know more about the existing config, let me know. -- Scott Lambert KC5MLE Unix SysAdmin lambert@lambertfam.org

I've seen instances where sshd will fill up the internal kernel tables (kern.maxfilesperproc and so forth) and not accept new connections until either the server was rebooted or sshd was completely killed and restarted. Dinosaur *
Hello, With some trepidation I've come to inquire about platform requirements for * after having spent a couple of hours searching and browsing the archives and skimming the Handbook (very nice). I've found recommendations for 800-1000 Mhz and 128-256 MB RAM machines. My curiosity is not about what machine I need to start using * to support live comm ops. Rather, I want to know if a

Problems with TDM400P & X100P
Hi, I had ordered a TDM40B and developers kit a few months ago. I have everything installed and working, with one exception - sound quality. When placing a call it sounds like a very bad cordless phone - lots of hiss / static in the background. This even happens with the dialtone, though it is much worse one the call is connected. This does not occur when the phone is directly connected to the

[SAGE] FreeBSD 4.4-REL to FreeBSD 4.8-STABLE upgrade problem.
Before reading below: I am considering a new install rather than an upgrade of our servers. However, now I just want to beat this problem. :) At 02:19 PM 7/8/2003 +0000, Phil Pennock wrote: >On 2003-07-08 at 14:09 +0000, Phil Pennock wrote: > > There was a fairly major update to the IDE disk device handlers which > > required new device nodes. portupgrade(1) | portmaster(8) -- which is more effective for large upgrade?
Greetings, I haven't upgraded my tree(s) for awhile. My last attempt to rebuild after an updating src && ports, resulted in nearly installing the entire ports tree, which is why I've waited so long. Try as I might, I've had great difficulty finding something that will _only_ upgrade what I already have installed, _and_ respect the "options" used during the original

Is Asterisk ready for "real" use?
Okay, I am facing a move in two months to newly renovated space. I have to decide *this week* between: A) Pull LAN and phone cables, prepare to move and expand our "traditional" PBX (Panasonic KX-TD1232 and VPS200). or B) Pull only LAN cables, go VoIP, use Asterisk as PBX. It is *not* an option to purchase a VoIP system package from Cisco, 3com, etc. Installers are getting an

realpath(3) et al
First, I hope that this message is not considered flame bait. As someone who has used FreeBSD for for 5+ years now, I have a genuine interest in the integrity of our source code. Second, I hope that this message is not taken as any form of insult or finger pointing. Software without bugs does not exist, and I think we all know that.
