reducing the stack size
hi all,
the stacksize required for encoder and decoder
are 32Kbytes and 16 Kbyes respectively. i changed
it to 20Kbytess and 8Kbytes and it seems to work.
but need to trim further. can someone point me in
the right direction to further reducing the stack size?
thanks!
cheers,

Oddsock oddity
...d the eye candy will
go let to right and the server will show that there is a connection, but the
thing never sends data and a media player like WinAMP will will tell me that
there is no ICY service available. I have loaded lame_enc.dll in the WinAMP
plugin folder and the Oddsock DSP tells me 0 kbyes Total of 0 8 sent
What else have I missed?

Allocating 64 kbits/s out of 256 kbits/s for one LAN behind firewall
...ilter add dev $INTERFAZ_INT protocol ip parent 1: pref 1 handle 5 fw
classid 1:5
Still no luck. after applying the obove rules, I downloaded an centos ISO
image. But , I still can download @ the usual rate. ( i.e 30-33 kbytes per
seconds).
If these rules work, I will be able to download @ about 8 kbyes per second.
(i.e - 8*8 kbit= 64 kbit)
That is what I expect ?
Where have I gone wrong?

RAID benchmarks
We (a small college with about 3000 active accounts) are currently in
the process of moving from UW IMAP running on linux to dovecot running
on a cluster of 3 or 4 new faster Linux machines. (Initially using
perdition to split the load.)
As we are building and designing the system, I'm attempting to take (or
find) benchmarks everywhere I can in order to make informed decisions
and so

Allocating 64 kbits/s out of 256 kbits/s for one LAN behing firewall
Hi,
We have a 256 kbits/s (kilobits per second) link to the internet. it is a
router running Linux that belongs to our ISP. They have given us 8 internet
ips. (i.e- subnet is 255.255.255.248). one has been given to this router. I
have given another internet ip to the firewall running CentOS 4.5. iptables
is running on it. And also, I have installed iproute2 pkg as well.
pls see below for
