Stagefright mediaplayer in Android
Hi! My name is David. I'm having some problems with audio playback on Android and I was thinking that maybe you have had the same or similar problem while streaming to Android. I ran across this issue: https://github.com/karlheyes/icecast-kh/issues/120 and that is exactly the problem I've been having. I don't know if this is a official fork of Icecast or a personal fork, but I suspect the same problem exists for the original Icecast. Have you seen the same issue? Did you find a solution for it? If you have seen t...

Possible SYN flooding on port 8000. Sending cookies
...synack_retries and netdev_max_backlog *My question *- to fix this SYN flooding problem should I modify net.ipv4.tcp_max_syn_backlog, net.core.somaxconn and the backlog size passed to the listen() syscall or might there be an alternative easier fix such as installing 2.3.3-kh9<https://github.com/karlheyes/icecast-kh/archive/icecast-2.3.3-kh9.tar.gz> ? Potentially relevant information: [root at VM ~]# icecast -v Icecast 2.3.3 [root at HN ~]# uname -r 2.6.32-042stab057.1 [root at HN ~]# cat /etc/redhat-release CentOS release 6.3 (Final) In advance, many thanks for your advice and best regard...

Checking for file /7.html
.... The opening tag is written <HTML> but the closing tag is written </html>. A strict HTML parser will complain about these. Worse however is the possibility that a program expecting 7.html may *expect* these defects. There is an XSL stylesheet in the KH tree at https://github.com/karlheyes/icecast-kh/blob/master/web/7.xsl but it uses the HTML output scheme which will lack these defects, and so may not be compatible with some software that expects them. Of course, why Shoutcast decided to present what is obviously meant to be machine-parsable data in HTML is completely beyond me...

limit-rate
Hi, Where is the mount option 'limit-rate' in the current version? I checked in cfgfile.c and in the documentation, no mention. Yet this option did exist at one time: http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/icecast/2010-October/011703.html http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/icecast/2009-January/011391.html I try to limit the bitrate of a mount-point, is there another solution? Do you know why this

icecast dev
Hi. Good to see new spirit of icecast! I have some suggestions: 1. Compatibility to iphone/android. There is a way to make the icecast working as one point solution to iphone/android? a lot of streamers searching for that. 2. I'm running icecast 2.3.2 on my 2008 windows server. I don't know how to explain this but I will try: When you starting to listen to a icecast

Chrome not allowing mixed content anymore
Hi. With its 80th version, Chrome stopped serving non-secure resources on https pages. This affected the icecast server I run also. I enabled SSL, the issue with Chrome not playing audio got fixed, but I noticed a major drop in the number of listeners. As far as I figured out, the listeners that have the http url in a playlist - listening in winamp, vlc etc. - could listen no more. Those using

both ssl and non-ssl stream on the same socket
Hi. I configured icecast to serve a stream over ssl and it plays nice in Chrome and VLC. But on plain http I get *connection reset*. This stream's url is the same for many years now, and it is included in many radio directories, TuneIn and other apps. I can't change it or break it. Is there a way to have a stream that servs the content over ssl and plain http in the same time, depending
