Ruby-1.9.1+ rpm for CentOS-5
Does anyone have the url of a repository that provides Ruby-1.9.1+ for CentOS-5 and which they consider a trustworthy and reliable source? I really do not what to have to build this software if I can avoid it. -- *** E-Mail is NOT a SECURE channel *** James B. The "single WINS" problem
Everybody encourages Samba admins to enable WINS whenever possible, and I agree that it helps a lot to solve these networks' problems. It's so good that, when it fails, it's a disaster. How are people coping with the samba limitation of not being able to replicate the WINS database and thus its inability to have more than one WINS server in a domain?

CentOS 5 Live USB
I took a stab at making a bootable CentOS 5 Live USB pendrive and I ended up with a kernel panic. I was able to do this with a live CD of CentOS 4, but it seems the same procedure does not work for the new version. Has anyone been able to accomplish this? Any and all thoughts are apprecicated! Mark

Passenger Woes
...but I''ve been struggling with this all day :( I''m running CentOS 5.3, with rubygems, rack and fastthread, from EPEL. I''m running puppet-0.25.0-1 built from the spec file in the latest stable tarball. I''m using mod_passenger-2.2.5-2.el5 from Jeroen van Meeuwen (kanarip), which is effectively EPEL too. I''m using the config.ru file from http://github.com/reductivelabs/puppet/blob/master/ext/rack/files/config.ru, chowned to puppet and chmoded 644. I''ve added: [puppetmasterd] ssl_client_header = SSL_CLIENT_S_DN ssl_client_verify_header =...

puppetmanaged.org ?
Anyone from puppetmanaged.org listening to this list ? The web page to create an account <http://www.puppetmanaged.org/user/register> is busted. The CAPTCHA does not show up and you cannot register without it. So I tried their mailing list -- <http://www.puppetmanaged.org/mailman/listinfo> I was able to join, but then my attempt to post to the list bounced:

The basic idea is: file { "/etc/foo": notify => Exec["bar"] } exec { "bar": command => "Do stuff to /etc/foo", refreshonly => true } Should I use a fact that is unset based on a
