Subscription not immediately reflected
Hello,
?
I noticed that somewhere between 2.2.22 and 2.2.25 the workings of subscriptions seem to have changed.
In version 2.2.25, when a client subscribes to a folder, and then does an LSUB command, it will not see that subscribed folder.
If you retry the LSUB command, the change is there.
Same with unsubscribes.
In version 2.2.22 I did not see this weird behavior.

atheros chips dangerous?
Hello,
Possibly some of you will have read the news about "Hijacking a
Macbook in 60 Seconds or Less"[1]. At this time I was searching
a wireless card for my server and I wonder how this can affect
to the combination FreeBSD+ath(4).
The ath_hal page states that FreeBSD use a binary driver and
I think it is located in this file[2].
Unlike OpenBSD which affirms that they have

Does TMail support Nested Multipart Messages? (Repost)
Hi,
does anybody know if TMail supports nested multipart messages? I read
a changelog that indicates so
(http://dev.rubyonrails.org/svn/rails/trunk/actionmailer/CHANGELOG), but
I haven''t been able to get it working so far.
Maybe I am doing something wrong here?
I attached the sample mail. Here is the code to parse it:

Rails Plugins: Why to register your own functionality with send()?
Hi there,
I have seen in the file column plugin (
http://www.kanthak.net/opensource/file_column/) from Sebastian Kanthak or
David''s acts_as_taggable plugin that to register my functionality I need to
do something like this:
ApplicationHelper.send(:include, InPlaceEditAssociations)
I am wondering why not:
(a)
module ApplicationHelper
include InPlaceEditAssociatons
end
or:

Best way to install non-official packages?
Sooner or later everyone needs to install a package that is not
included on the official installation CDs/DVD. Until now I just used
rpmseek.com and Rpmfind.Net but of course this is far from optimal for
security and compatibility to reasons.
So what is the recommended way to get and install "non official"
packages that are not part of the repository?!

Integrity checking NANOBSD images
We have a number of Soekris devices that we will be deploying
remotely in semi- hostile physical environments. The remote links
are dialup so I dont have a lot of bandwidth available. I want to do
integrity checks of the images so that I can detect any tampering of
the flash image.
If I upload a static sha256 binary to /tmp on the remote box (which
is a RAM disk) and then do something

recommended SSL-friendly crypto accelerator
Hi,
I'm pondering building my own SSL accelerator out of a multi-CPU
FreeBSD system and a crypto accelerator.
What's the recommended hardware crypto accelerator card these
days?
Thanks,

Possible security issue with jails
Howdy!
I'm not sure if this is actually an issue, feature or a bug, but I have found
that inside a jail, the jailed root user is able to sniff traffic (and enable
promiscuous mode) on at least the interface of the IP address the jail is attached
to.
I have not found any documentation explaining if this should occur or not, but
I feel it is something that should at least be known to those

Rails vs. J2EE: Sharing state in memory?
Hi,
I am from a Java background and pretty new to Ruby and Rails.
What I am wondering is how I would shared state accross requests and users
without involving IO, i.e. use memory.
My current understanding is that for each request a new process ist spawn
and therefore it gets its own memory. So no sharing can take place between
requests?
Do I understand this right? For those who know

Why does''nt rails pick up more metadata from a mysql schema?
Hi,
when I define a db column to be non-nullable or of length 20 or as
numeric, I would expect rails to validate that, but that doesn''t seem
to be the case.
Any idea why that is? The metadata is accessible, at least in the mysql case.
I am using rails 1.0 with mysql 5.

open and euid security flaw in 5.0-Current?
On a FreeBSD 5.0 the behaviour of screen when connecting to other
users sessions have changed. Previously:
1. login as userA start a screen as userA and disconnect
2. login as root su - userA "screen -r"
3. result failure as userA cant access the ttyX with such a message
Current:
1. login as userA start a screen as userA and disconnect
2. login as root su - userA "screen -r"

...his is also OK by me in principle, but I'd like
to review the patch before it gets committed because there are a
large number of dragons.
In P4:phk_gbde there is the beginning of hw-crypto support through
opencrypto(9), if somebody wants to work on that, get in touch with
me.

NEW ctm-gnats: GNATS bug reports via CTM
...software;
GNATS partially automates the tracking of these problems. All FreeBSD
problem reports (PRs) filed by users with send-pr(1) are put into this
database, as well as additional information about each PR during its
lifetime.
CTM is the universal software mirror tool designed by Poul-Henning
Kamp. It particularly shines in automating software mirrors particulary
for people with only email access to the net.
The CTM mirror of the FreeBSD GNATS database is intended for people
who want to help with tracking and fixing PRs, or for those who feel an
urgent need to be continously informed about...
