...t met exactly (sometimes they start with little delay, more often they last longer than planned) this wont work. it would be great if the streamtranscoder could "kick" ezstream off when it begins to send the live-stream... Icecast and ezstream
Hi, What is the actual functionality of ezstream when I use it with Icecast? What does it exactly do? Why isn't Icecast written to read a file directly and stream it? -- ~$ubh

IE/FLASH/ICECAST
Hello, I've created a macromedia flash player in order to play icecast mp3 streaming. Icecast is configued on the port 8000 and It's ok with winamp. In my flash movie, I've used loadSound("<streaming>",true) on a Sound object. It's ok on Mozilla based browsers but some user don't have sound on Internet Explorer. D't understand? Is there an issue? Thx

running asterisk through cellphone
hi everybody, I'm currently planning a small-sized web-applicaiton allowing users to call-in via phone. the phonecalls should be recorded and processed further by some custom scripts - sounds like asterisk is a perfect match for this app. however, during prototyping I have no ISDN-connection whatsoever available, so I was asking myself if it's possible to connect a cellphone via

AGI/PHP: missing arguments
hi folks, I've built a simple PHP-script utilizing the AGI-interface. in extensions.conf I trigger the script and pass a single value as first argument: exten => h,1,DeadAGI(process.php|${Enter}) On the Asterisk-console, I can actually see that the script is called correctly (something like "DeadAGI(process.php|1234)"). However, when I read stdin in the PHP script, I receive

dialplan / problem with extension-length > 1
hi community, I'm new to this list & asterisk in general, so let me first say thx to everybody involved in providing such great tools & ressources!! I'm currently trying to implement a simple voicebox-system. for demonstration purposes, I've successfully connected my cellphone via bluetooth using the current chan_cellphone-patch on the current SVN-version of asterisk.

icecast source-buffer
hi, I'm running an live 128kbit mp3-upstream (icecast v 2.2.0 on freebsd) from a site where the internet-connection is rather bad and drops every ~20min for few seconds (I'm using streamtranscoder by the way). my question is if there's any parameter to increase the buffer of the upstreaming-source. the config-file of icecast offers <queue-size>, but this seems to affect only the

buffer-issue when piping live-streams into musiconhold
Hi Folks, I'm currently trying to configure musiconhold (on a asterisk-1.4.17) for replaying a live mp3-stream (Icecast2). after reading the related material on voip-info and several other pages, I've successfully tried out mpg132, madplay and mplayer to pipe a stream into moh. however, there is one major problem involving some kind of buffer-issue. let me try to explain this problem

id3-tags of static files
The protocol of sending of metadata over a stream (which is HTTP) does not allow for this type of thing. The problem is not necessarily the fact that the id3 tags are at the end of the files, as id3v2 does not have this restriction, but rather just the "agreed" upon protocol for handling metadata for streamed mp3s (and I'm only going to talk about mp3s here, since it's

AW: IE/FLASH/ICECAST
hi, icecast 2.2.0 has to be patched slightly to work with flash-players using the sound-object - cant find the exact link to this, maybe one of the developers can explain? I just added 4 lines at the end of format_mp3_send_headers() in format_mp3.c: sock_write(client->con->sock, "Cache-Control: no-cache\r\n"); sock_write(client->con->sock, "Pragma: no-cache\r\n");

AW: id3-tags of static files
thx oddsock for your detailed reply, I think I now understand the problem :) I'm currently using a php-script (mp3 toolbox - http://www.radiotoolbox.com/downloads/) to stream static mp3's on-demand, and this script obviously sends the icy-headers (which are the shoutcast metadata protocol, right?). however, I think that it would be a nice feature for icecast to support these

chan_isdn with HFC-compatible
hi list, I'm currently trying to get Asterisk running with an HFC-compatible ISDN card (no-name product, but supposed to work with Asterisk according to the packaging). the ISDN-card is connected to a alcatel ISDN-system where it should act just like a normal ISDN-phone. I went with http://www.misdn.org/index.php/MISDN_with_Asterisk and installed the package from beronet.com including:
